Anyway you could correct capitlization and stuff? I know others will go "it's a fighting game!!1! we don't need grammar and spelling!" but it just makes it look a lot better to me. More professional.

personnaly if there are some little erros here and here i don't mind, i'm not perfectionist.
the essential (for me) is to understand what is written.

so don't hesitate to propose a "beta version" (with some errors not fixed yet) sooner for those who are thinking like me.

and later a "final version" for people who want a perfect translation and don't mind in waiting a little bit.

with this, everybody will be glad.

this proposition won't ask you more work, will it?

I know that here is not an area to wing on the subject .. but I will comment that someone could create a cheat code to double the speed of the game .. like they did with pokemon black and white .. would be a good idea .. because DeSmuME emulation in this road because this game playable 25-32 fps ... a cheat to double the speed game would be perfect .. and sorry to be posting in a place q is not this issue ..

Most of us play this on flashcarts, not emulators. Therefore, speedup cheats would make the game infinitely harder.

Besides, making one of those cheats has nothing to do with a translation.

And I translated part of the game for him, so why wouldn't someone say thank you?

Why would someone make a half-assed version and then a corrected version?
That's just silly. If you're going to release a patch, make it professional.

Psh why would someone release a patch and correct bugfixes the next patch? that's just SILLY TALK

Yeah, I was reading the topic and I can't help to give in my two cents.

It's not like you're gonna do it right the first time, guaranteed and then never return to it. It's a good idea to make it as nice as possible the first time so you don't have to return to it later.

But in case you mess it up (i.e. a mistranslation), you can always go back and fix it later.

Elza, I think you should fix as many errors as you can and then release the patch. If you release it without checking, it may possibly result in a game crash, graphics going wonky, more typos than you could ever imagine and all it took to keep all of that from happening was one little test. Beta testing your patches can keep this from happening. For fighting games, testing would only take a day or two. Accuracy is much better than speed.

i am using xdelta to patch a clean rom but xdelta doesnt seem to patch the rom with the patch
is there a different patcher i can use to patch the rom?
[this isnt the first time i had a problem using xdelta i had a similar experience when trying to patch the black pokemon rom; luckily for me the translator made his own patcher , i think, which helped me out alot.]

For everyone having trouble patching your roms with Elza's patch, I've created batch files for both patches to (hopefully) solve this problem for you.

Use this one with your clean rom:

Both zip files contain Elza's patches and changelogs.
All I added were copies of xdelta.exe, the batch files, and patching instructions.

I don't think Elza will mind me doing this, especially since a lot of you are having such trouble with this.
And Elza, you can reuse my batch files when you release a new patch.

Just open the batch file with Notepad and edit this line:
xdelta.exe -f -d -s dbkai_APfixed.nds dbkai_AP_017.xdelta dbkai_APfix-ENG_patch_by_Elza.nds

Change dbkai_AP_017.xdelta to whatever you name the new patch file.
Just make sure not to include any spaces or periods in the filename or the batch file won't work.

And thank you Elza and co. for translating this game for all of us.
