Just updated PKHeX to load/save Cyber Gadget saves. Code functionality worked all along, but loading of saves is nice too.

Thanks to the guy who joined IRC to make this all possible.

Just a quick update since I have to go out for the day. I just received the Cybergadget Save Editor. It;s simple enough to set up. You put in the card and it goes over the internet to recognize it and when you go and patch it. I expect it to be able to tell the difference between different regions games so I doubt it is region free. I quickly used an official patch that gave me Gasha coins in Youkai Watch. Got 3 pretty cool Youkai (but it seems they start at level 1 when you get them from the machine). I haven't looked at the Advanced Mode yet where you can add your own codes. I'll keep you updated! I don't own Pokemon X/Y so I can't get the save for it.

yes, when you get any youkai from the machine they are level 1, there's nothing special about that. what coins could you get , special ones too i hope? and experience items too? can you screenshot or show a list for what codes you can see? :)
at least for powersaves, you could only see the codes on the software, so if you don't have it you can't see what you can get, i think.

So, does the Cyber Gadget indeed work with any Pokemon cart? Or just Japanese ones? The image Kaphotics posted was in English, but all the games probably offer all languages so I had to ask.

does that mean that it is possible to convert a save to the cyber gadget format? and the other way around? and put a save on another cart?
or is the aes thing still needed? is the cyber gadget thing doing the save hacking? since people think datel use a 3ds farm right, but if this stuff can be done offline, that means cyber gadget have actually broken it? or not?

CyberGadget only backs up saves offline; to decrypt / code it needs to send data to their server.
It would be possible to put the save on another cart using their tool.
Dunno about the rest.

From what I've heard and read, the device actually does connect to the internet after you have made the edits. Their servers are what is doing the finalized signing from what I understand.

Edit: Ninja'ed. Now we know directly from somebody who knows.

There are only a few official codes. One of them is for "special" coins and another is for the experience items. However, if you go to savedata.jp, you can find custom codes for just about any youkai or item you want.

Btw, in case you are interested, when you first set up the CyberGadget Save Editor. it downloads the latest software and firmware. It looks like it has already been upgraded to the Save Editor 2 firmware and software. I don't know why they are selling a "2" version and differentiating it. Just to upgrade the packaging?

I bet that is probably why. After all, Datel did something similar when they began supporting Card2 games as well. One of those "Same Great Taste, Brand New Look" type campaigns, I guess.

Thanks for giving us your impressions so far. Mine is order and I'm excited to see what all it can do.

The device reportedly only supports JP copies of the game.
Just him confirming it.
Code:
[21:01:38] Hozu Is it confirmed JP carts only?
[21:01:56] Kaphotics yes
[21:02:01] Kaphotics until we hack the shit
[21:02:08] Kaphotics probably will be JP only
[21:02:10] Hozu Ha
[21:02:11] Hozu Good.
[21:02:18] Kaphotics they CRC the cart header
[21:02:22] Hozu And JP Pokemon games can only be played on a JP 3DS?
[21:02:26] Kaphotics so if the cart header is different and they care about the CRC
[21:02:27] Kaphotics yes

excellent, happy to hear you got your copy ^_^"
what games have you tried out...rather what games are you able to test with this device ?

also nice to hear that it updates to the latest build when you setup every thing !!

Kaphotics

amazing...the latest build of "PKHeX" looks amazing !

* currently unable to test it out myself, but I have been keeping up with it *

hmm...have any of your edits been tested online ?

* like GTS, WiFi Trade, and/or Online battles *

so this device is only compatible with Japanese region games ?

the spoiler tagged picture is a Japanese pokemon game set to English language...or was it a edited pokemon that was locally traded to an English pokemon game ?

Must I buy a japanese 3s or only a japanese card to use this save editor?

3DSes aren't region free, so, probably would need a Japanese cart and a Japanese 3ds.

UNLESS, and this isn't exactly relevant to you if you don't have a gateway: Would gateway be able to play Pokemon XY region free? I'm not sure about this, if it can, I might invest in a Cyber Gadget and a new Cart bc I need a new Y version anyway. :o

Um, I asked that question and he responded in that copypasta IRC log...

People tested that and it doesn't work because of the difference in save file encryption due to emuNAND or whatever causes it.

so the projectpokemon wizards can possibly hack this and are possibly working on it? I wonder why it's JP only. Is it because Cyber Gadget's 3ds farm is comprised of japanese consoles? Does anyone think they would release a localized device for western regions? Ahh datel, what are you people doing:unsure:

Probably because they don't care for people outside Japan.

Offline? So they got dumping (encrypted commands) and decrypting (Card ID and stuff) all client side?
I remember powersaves do all this server side.

I remember powersaves do all this server side.

Dumping is done via the dongle, and they send commands to it and have the dongle handle it. No need for a server to come up with the cart commands or how to interpret the data.

For decrypting, they send the cart ID and cart data to the server to decrypt, and return the data to you once it's done.
