Patching multiple times with GBAta didn't work either.

However, it worked with another game I did.

I guess I'll do each game separately. Just wanted both games in one cia for commodity, but it's no big deal.
Patching with GBATA might be the only solution. I tried Magical Quest 2 GBA, Green Eggs and Ham and Super Mario Ball patched with GBATA and they work perfectly so far.

This may sound silly but someone on a reddit wrote a guide about fixing save during injections of GBA games. It requires using a GBATOOL.EXE to patch save ram, then using another kind of program to create a rst something kind of file needed to use in another program to actually create the inject cia. According to that source, all injects requires to be patched to have EEPROM V124 data type to work in VC. So i dunno, if that helps somehow.

I used it to fix DKC 3 and Super street fighter 2 Revival to save when it wasn't the first time. :yay3ds:
I haven't used this tool yet, since i haven't felt like playing a new rom. :ninja:

I used GBAta to patch to SRAM.

Problem is, the game is one of those 2 in 1 games that need multiple SRAM patches to work.

I patched the game 3 times with GBAta in a process of 3 roms, but it didn't work.

Is there another way to SRAM patch a rom multiple times?

Dunno if those 2 in 1 games exists officially.

I'm trying to patch the 2 in 1 spyro games for the GBA, which got an official release.

I read that the tetris and dr mario 2 in 1 needed to be patched 3 times for it to work, but I haven't tried with this tool as the program can't access the patched rom in the local temp folder.

Yes they exist offically. :P
Try patching a clean rom with GBATOOL.exe first

Oh, then yes, one of those games.

And already did. Patched the downloaded ROM (supposedly clean) before making the cia.

However, I used a ROM that ws patched 3 times individualy with GBAta.

Have you tried patching just once one of those 2 in 1 games and got them working?

I haven't tried doing any of this yet. Tell me the name of the game you are working on and i will try it my way to see if it works.

As stated above, the SRAM patching in the injector is based on ezgba (the commandline version, NOT the GUI version) which was created using information reverse engineered from GBATA, more or less. The error everyone seems to be getting isn't really a problem with ezgba, it's a problem with something on your computer stopping the injector from accessing the temporary directory it uses for storage when building the rom for injection.

Possible causes

One of these preventing the ezgba from running, leaving no output gba file for the injector
- Computer Cleaning Utilities
- Windows Defender or other Antivirus Programs false positiving ezgba
- Not running the injector as Administrator
- Windows SmartScreen false positiving ezgba

Oh, thanks for the offer.
Is this game.
I did them separately in the end, but having them on one game would still be nice!
I don't know about the multicart of that game, but I know the individual games, only Spyro Season of Ice has trouble saving.
Spyro 2 Season of Flame saved fine for me otherwise. Have you tried doing 2 patches instead of 3? (1 for the cart UI, 1 for Season of Ice, and then leave 1 pass left so Season of Flame remains unpatched)

i guess theres no way to make ezgba use a different folder like whatever folder the injector is located in?

i mean, the thing is, when i tried the program, i later found dozens of folders that had been created in temp with the ezgba exe and a copy of the gba rom i tried to patch. but it somehow isn't able to generate the patched rom on temp and then the injector cant use it either.

and using the program on its own, at least i wasn't able to get any patched games, even though ezgba displayed a success message

Probably possible, but the problem isn't that it doesn't have access, it's something on your machine preventing EZGBA from working. If it worked then the GBA file would be there.

I SRAM patched Season of Ice with GBAta tool and it works like a charm.
The problem is I can't try multiple patching with the tool here because it gives me an unhandled exception that it can't access the patched rom in the local temp folder :/

But yeah, the other 2 games works nicely, and I am playing season of Ice with no problem in saving after the SRAM patch.

@Asdolo Just for your information, I noticed that this tool: https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-gba-vc-banner-and-icon-generator.391566/ (kinda old now) seems to generate perfectly accurate icons in terms of size. The resizing is better than your tool, it would be nice if you could manage to do the same. Then your tool would be absolutely perfect! :)

interesting... i need this
i used to make icons and banners with that tool but... when i use it the banner and icon looks very very pixelated : (

I think Asdolo is just busy lately, give him some time and I'm sure he'll get around to it. You can always produce your own 40x40 image and put it in yourself if it bothers you a lot.

That tool generates really ugly icons and footers I don't recommend it at all.

I'm OK with the current method the injector uses already. So do you right?

I prefer the current setting, but he could add an "more official" check box there that generates them like that, I'm sure.
I'm sure some people would appreciate that, personally i don't keep any official GBA VC because they have horrible filtering so it's not something that'd bother me about it. If I was making Custom VC that appear alongside official ones I might mind more, but I'm not about to regenerate 109 GBA games CIAs over a small 2 or 3 pixel difference.
