Why's that?
Just curious.

  • Not as many new Pokemon
  • The map design isn't the best. I don't know how to describe it rather than extremely dull. X/Y in my opinion the worst Pokemon game when it comes to this category.
  • I know Pokemon isn't known for it's plot but this by far is the weakest out of all the mainline games.
  • I found the game to be short and easy.I'm not done with the game, but if I give it 3 or so more hours I probably will be. My team knocking out pokemon in 2-3 hits and I'm not a competitive player either I'm not into EV/IV stats training and whatever
  • Obvious frame rates issues
It's a huge step backwards from the Black and White duology which
It's not a bad game, in my opinion it's decent. I was also let down by SMT IV but not as much as pokemon :v

I've only played Pokemon Y on that list (I have SMT IV but I haven't gotten around to it yet) but it was pretty average. I'd say in terms of where it lies on the list of best and worst Pokemon games, easily smack-dab in the middle. It's not nearly as good as GSC or Platinum but it's certainly not as bad and BW or RSE.

Why is BW bad?
IMO, the game focused way too much on its story that wasn't really that good. I love the little details that was added to the game so it wasn't all bad.
BW2 was better imo since the story wasn't really forced (if that makes sense).

Why is BW bad?

In no particular order.
  1. All the starters suck. Seriously. Emboar is a terrible Infernape, Serperior has a horrible move pool, and whatever Oshawott evolves into doesn't hold a candle to any of the other starters. I mean Emboar is half fighting and it learns ONE Fighting type move. And that's fucking Arm Thrust.
  2. All the Pokemon in general suck. Most of the Pokemon in the game are just pretty awful. Nothing sets them apart from past generation Pokemon. The only one I genuinely like is Ferrothorn and that's because he's crazy good with the current build (hold Rocky Helmet, moveset is Curse, Gyro Ball, Power Whip, and Ingrain).
  3. Really bad map layout. Very few options are given to counteract the next gym. Like right before the Dragon gym you can get a Dragon-type (...which is also weak to Dragon so you have to grind the shit out of it to make it actually good) or Cryogonal (which has an insanely low appearance rate) or Cubchoo (who just plain sucks). You realize some other games are terrible with this (like the only fighting type you can get for Whitney in GSC is Machop which you trade for anyway) but I think this really takes the cake.
  4. Horrible story that gets in the way of playing with a deluge of "cutscenes" and to the point of cockblocking your champion battle for some animu broody N-related story.
  5. Can't even get the game's main legendary until your fight with N. Every other game you could and it was a pretty awesome thing to face the Elite 4 with your Lugia or Ho-oh or Kyogre or Groundon.
  6. Can be a bit of a grindfest.
All things considered Black/White 2 are just better. They're a bit like XY in that they're sorta "Pokemon's Greatest Hits" with a ton of good Pokemon throughout the game but it's not as overbearing. Story is super minimal so it's not in the way and in general I found it to be much more fun.
As for a note on story, Pokemon stories are only acceptable when they're minimal. Ever since RSE the stories have been this anime bullshit "SAVE THE WORLD!!!" plot. Remember that the main plot of GSC was, like, beating the Elite 4? I mean the subplot was beating Team Rocket... which was already defeated and this was basically the remnants of it. Hell it pretty much gets resolved once you get to Mahogany Town.
All that being said Black and White is probably the worst Pokemon game(s). Even worse than RSE.

Zelda, pokemon and fire emblem are good, havent played any of the three yet, but i voted for pokemon because the fire emblem got way to much pay to win stuff

Erm. Yeah, its clear that you didn't play fire emblem.

There are loads of optional DLCs, its not pay to win though. Its pay for map packs. The game itself is a full fledged game. The DLCs are meant for hardcore fire emblem fans. If you're a casual player, not getting the DLCs will not affect your gaming experience.

Come on, don't speculate when you do not have the entire picture.

I haven't played this game yet. Although i am big fan of fire emblem, i refused myself to play the game until there is a option to get all the dlc too.
Ofcourse ALL THE BONUS in any games will not effect your gameplay, so it doesnt mean they shouldn't have it added as bonus instead of as PAID DLC.
My point on this still stand, the developer have now the option to add PLANNED extra feature as PAID DLC instead of free extra feature, because we as consumer are retarded enough to buy those.

The game is freaking amazing and you can get like 100+ hours out of it without bothering with the DLC. I don't think there'll be an option to get the game + all the DLC anytime soon, if ever. Besides, it's very much a complete game without the DLC.

Pokemon X/Y are hands down the best in the series if you like to play at least semi-competitively. The main game is lacking for sure but the wealth of new social features and breeding/training changes more than make up for it.

As for the poll...I was preeeeetty torn between SMT4 and FE:A. SMT's combat system was incredibly satisfying and I really liked that you could lose to mobs half your level if you played like an idiot. Im also a huge sucker for fusing demons, which 4 handled quite well.
But at the end of the day I had to go with Fire Emblem. The game is absolutely gorgeous, the ability to reclass your units multiple times led to a fun time sink to breed the ultimate warriors, a huge roster of likeable characters, and marrying your units to breed even more ridiculous warriors leads to an extremely rich experience.

Pokémon is way overrated. I finished it last month and although it's a good game I would never call it game of the year, at least there was nothing that got me very impressed and I think they screwed up really bad with the almost non-existent 3D in this game + laggy FPS in battles.

Anyway, I chose Luigi's Mansion because of the huge amount of content, humour, exploration. This was a game I bought on impulse but I was amazed on how much fun I had playing it.

Really loved Project X Zone, just the funny humor and character variety had me hooked on playing it for hours on end. Currently waiting for Fire Emblem Awakening to go on sale :D

For Zelda: aLBW, is the game easy to follow, like what I mean is that like is it easy to know where you gotta go and such?

I was thinking about voting for Pokemon X and Y at first, but then I remembered the awesome time I had playing Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.

I love how the game, similar to a Link to the Past, is semi-liner, after you beat the first dungeon, you are free to pick which dungeon you wanted to go to next. (Don't believe me? Go back and play A Link to the Past) The item rental option is great for those speed-running through the game as the game can be beaten quickly. Having a death penalty of losing your rental items gives an incentive to carying bottled faries and blue potions. Hero mode is a nice challenge for the hardcore Zelda crowd, and I am in the process of beating Hero mode.

The dungeon music gives nods to A Link to the Past's score, while maintaining a different feel. Every Lorule Dungeon has it's own unique music, which makes each dungeon feel unique. The design of the dungeons' puzzles and rooms are interesting and I even got stumped on a few dungeons, Turtle Rock and the Ice Temple for example. The baseball minigame has some nifty features, if you have a rod equipped you'll use it instead of the wooden stick, I think this is purely cosmetic. It's kinda funny to use the gust rod.

The story, while somewhat simple, is moving. I don't think I have ever felt bad about an antagonist in a Zelda game before, but Hilda was different. Hilda's intentions were good, but mislead. I actually cried tears of joy at the story's conclusion.

The game is easily replay-able and I am sure to attempt speed-runs of this game, multiple times.

If you own a 3DS you should have a copy of this game!

Bravely Default is/was "meh"

I don't see how people can still tolerate those crummy archaic turn-based battle systems, yawn.
Its battle system is so outdated and boring that the charming art, music, and presentation isn't enough to save it IMO.
