Wow I didn't know the wii had linux. I'm downloading the linux file right now so in 30 minutes i'll see if it can hack wifi ;)
If you don't have any experience using the aircrack-ng suite then don't expect instant results. There is a learning curve to using the software. The more experience you have the easier it becomes to crack networks. There are lots of factors with wireless hacking. I've had situations where a certain network just didn't want to play nice with me trying to trick the router to spit out more IV's, and other situations where it has taken me less than 3 minutes to crack a network.

Hey does anybody know of a way to download files from the internet with the wii?? The internet channel doesn't allow downloading but maybe theres an aplication 4 downloading??
There was a tool that runs directly via the homebrew channel that can download files, but for the life of me I can't remember the name and I can't find it on wiibrew. I think I have it saved on my sd card at home, if I find it i'll post the name of the app. Either way, it won't be as versatile as wii linux + wget (as giantpune suggested), but it should be easier to set up.

So, I got this kinda working. I start airodump-ng and after about 8 seconds it stops seeing anything happening. I ctrl+c to end airodump-ng and then start it again and it wont pick up on anything at all. I have to restart the wii for me to be able to pickup on networks again, but it only lasts for about 8 seconds.

Although this does not affect anything, but my wireless shows up as wlan1, not wlan0.

Also, when I have the linux booted, it does something that drowns out all of my other wifi. My computer suddenly stops transmitting data with my router until I shut my wii back off. Something screwy going on with this.

Yeah I know that. I've had experience with aircrack before I just never tried hacking with my wii. Anyway it worked pretty good for me, the only problem I encountered is that the wi-fi was wlan1 instead of wlan0 for some reason. I had to change the white-ez-wifi-config to get internet going.

It's just not worth the effort to crack wifi with a wii. It is much easier just to load up backtrack on a laptop or even in a VM. I spent my time trying to do it, and it was really just a rather big waste of time with all the screwing around and not being able to see everything that airodump-ng has for output with such a shitty resolution.

I though WPA2 are almost impossible to crack

It depends on how smart the person is who made the pass phrase. If someone is just using some ordinary words then it isn't too difficult. But if someone were to use 26 random characters, like me, then don't expect it to be cracked anytime soon. Also, many routers have WPS enabled by default which takes about a day to crack at the most usually and once it is cracked it will give you the pass phrase no matter how long or tough it is. So about %90 of the routers in my area can be cracked without too much effort.

Well as it turns out the Wii's wireless card is completely useless as putting it in monitor mode causes the wireless network to 'time out' and stop working. Does anyone else experience this or no? I'm particularly interested in how the OP set this up

@WiiLinuxNinja
Hey I have a Wii U, not a Wii. I also have a Windows 10 laptop(probably gonna have ta updated it to the latest version tho), not a Linux. Could ya please make this program WiiU and Windows 10(and newer)compatible. My dad hates me getting on the internet, so I want to hack his wifi so I can secretly use it, that way I can hopefully update my WiiU. It needs updated. BAD. Thx

@WiiLinuxNinja
Oh when ya do, not only could ya post it on GBAtemp, but could ya message me the post as well? Thx.

    Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

    The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

    @Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.
