The odd thing I feel about people complaining about framerate issues is that there's only one time it even comes up in any meaningful way: Ragdoll physics. Yes, it's a little annoying, but it's probably fixable, and beyond that, 'get over it'. :< There's far far worse issues in other games that people still praise to no end. Oh no~! I hit a Moblin and my game lagged a bit!!! :O WORST GAME EVER!... Riiiight~

Definitely more than a bit.. I can visibly see it hit the mid to low 10s in some cases.

Yeah? I've had it sieze for a good 5-8 seconds during one case. So fuckin' what? XD It's obvious what's causing it, and it's a singular issue. Meanwhile there's tons of shitty AAA games that have crashes and lag and all sorts of nasty bugs, and those don't get bashed for that because people EXPECT it.

Remember on the NES when sprite entities would flicker because too many were spawned on screen? People. Still. Had. Fun.

Tbh i was disapointed.
1-The lack of real dungeons made me sad, even the 4 beats felt like shrines with basicaly puzzles and little else inside barely any enemies if at all.
2- Enemy variety, was i the only person that found this ultimaticaly frustrating? i mean for the entire game you face the same 8 enemies with diferent color paletes or element to them, this was really lazy from ninty imo, srs each region should have exclusive enemies and not the same exact enemies with a diferent color palette or element to them to apear new...
3-Story is preety weak is basicaly you woke up you lost in the past there is ganon go beat it...

if i scored the game i would give it a 7/10 no idea how manny people gave it a 10/10 tbh.

Better than any adventure rpg and any Microsoft/Sony titles. It's not perfect, it just sets a lot of new precedents and is better than other games.

It's a very well-made open-world game with the Nintendo magic. That said, it does not feel like a Zelda game to me. All this crafting, breakable weapons, lack of dungeons, etc.. The game is entertaining enough for me to sink hours into, but the quality of entertainment I get from those hours is not on par with what I expect out of a Zelda game. Every time I'd complete a shrine or side quest or whatever and get rewarded with yet another weapon that would break the first time I used it, and I'd often have to throw out another weapon just as powerful or I wouldn't have room for the new one and I left it in the chest; it just felt so hollow. There's little sense of reward for all that exploration; I didn't get the feeling of progression.

Oh, I also do not at all care for the voice-acting and the main characters/story that plays out.

Although I am loving the game, I have to agree with the enemies and the story. Kinda wish that there were more enemy types and it feels weird that they never really mention the triforce.
At first I thought the game was really hard but once you get more into the game you become op, cant wait for the hard mode to come out.

yeah why not make more enemie models is byond me they were lazy and just colored them or gave them an elemental power while using the same exact model and animations , that was lazy imo.

This game made me feel like the (old)teenage I was when Ocarina Of Time was released.
Great epic adventure in a huge world (yes, Ocarina Of Time was huge back in '98).
I've never felt like this since, like I was waiting this Zelda game for 17 years.
Thank you Nintendo

Yeah, this is up there with OOT for me and it gives me the same sense of feeling like it did in 98 with OOT.

Nothimg will ever surpass Link to the Past.
Mate stop living in the past.
Anyway
Cons:
to short dungeons
lack of decent zelda soundtrack
weak story line/characters
not quite the zelda "feeling" (you know like opening a chest to get an item tumdumduuuum)

still on of the greatest zelda games ever made.

I hope Nintendo makes another Zelda with the same game engine fixing the following issues:
* framerates
* weapon durability (how about being able to repair broken weapons at a shop instead of them vanishing into thin air only after a couple of hits)
* english voice acting (voice every single character in the game plz, this time with proper recordings and some convincing voice this time)
* japanese/english voice option ingame
* proper antagonist who is actually making appearence in the world and destroying shit
* proper dungeons
* proper boss designs both visually and attack patterns
* more interaction with main characters

The difference between "Above Average" and "Awesome" (assuming that means 10/10) really isn't that great. I'd say the game is really good, I love it, but it's no master piece.
Bad voice acting, framerate problems, lazy 4 main dungeons, are all factors that make sure the game can never be "perfect". I noticed the Zora dungeon is well made, with an exhilarating beginning fight, with a good dungeon overall (even though it's short...), and that made me notice how the other 3 dungeons are very different in terms of greatness. The other three dungeons has much less voice acting, story, and short overall main quests with a very short dungeon to top it all off.

The Rito village is a prime example of lazy efforts. It's just you going to the wind canyon thing, flying next to the divine beasts and easily shooting the pink targets. I completed the dungeon under 45 minutes too. Coming back after defeating it just gives a small speech from the governor of the village. Nothing more.
The Goron City had an okay cannon section to defeat the beast enough to get in, but that was too, pretty much it next to the super short dungeon.
The Gerudo City beginning of the main quest was nice, but when it came to the divine beast, the whole sand seal part seemingly epic can be just completed in mere minutes.

Some voice actors are really freaking annoying, and some you can tell are people who have no experience in voice acting at all.
To say this game is a masterpiece and even say it's better than Ocarina of Time or some other good zelda game is just wrong, the old games had the dungeons and progression that made the zelda games iconic. This is just a Witcher 3 and Zelda had a baby who became a doctor instead of being unemployed, but not being a big successful businessman either.

There's hope for a Xenosaga port.

It is just a five star system going from 1 star (terrible or 0-1 of 10) to 5 stars (awesome or 9-10 of 10).
Taking this into consideration "above average" would be 4 stars, or 7-8 of ten.
I personally love the game, but it is not perfect.
For me it is something around 9/10.
I think this new formula can be improved, but it is a good change of direction. The thing I would like in a next version is caves (yeah, some cave in the map) and complex dungeons. I hope they make yet another Zelda for Switch.

OT/ TBH Zelda sounds a bit weird in English, to the point I started playing in Iberian Spanish... but then they change the names of every other character and village, so confused I went back to English. /OT

Oh I see. Yeah they're already in the right direction, they've done the open world system right, it just needs more refining, more areas like caves like you mentioned, and of course, the good old dungeons.
