I know it's very minor, but where on the list is tournament translation? There's a chance I simply have an older patch, but I'm completely lost on that part of the game and what I'm fighting/doing...

Still, very happy to see you guys going to town on this! You'll be all warmed up for when MHXX comes out, hehe

Because it's not done. This is just for some names / items and interface translations for now.

Oh I thought that some of the dialog would be translated after I put in the plugin in and the MHST folder like how it is in the video.

The video from the last page states that's what is to come, and not what's in the UI patch. The UI patch posted before is the same one in the early pages of this I believe.

But the another goes in SD/Luma/plugin ?! or all the file is on the root?! or like the another men said (JungleJustin) i need tu use NTR CFW?!

You need NTR for it for now I think.
Plugin folder and mhst folder both go in root of SD card.

NVM!! I figured it out..
Plugin and MHST in root of folder
ran ntr( never installed it )
opened game and ui in english thank you very much!!

You need to have the new NTR cia for 11.2 installed (I assume you are on 11.2). ntr.bin needs to be in root of your sd card. Plugin and MHST muste be in root of your sd card, too.
Then first start ntr and go back to menu (if you see an error, reboot and try again!)
Then start MHStories. During the 3ds screen you must see a short green flash, this means the plugin was loaded successfully! The boot screens are then already in english, when it worked.

Don't forget, NTR is New3ds only (more RAM).

you have to put the 2 folders on the root of your sd card then run ntr and then launch mh stories but its only the ui for now

No, because NTR does not work on o3ds with games that use extended memory mode. You will need to install a patched cia of Monster Hunter Stories.
