@sks316 It's obvious, CIA files are sensitive files that can cause damage, allowing the upload of CIA files would cause huge problems because of that
Oh. Makes sense. Now to go through the hassle of getting a larger SD Card to set up Luma3DS and use this tool!

Can you allow users who use the tool to change the Unique ID? Its getting tiring for me to find out that all themes created by this tool are sharing the same title ID or just replacing the Animal Crossing theme I Have.

Shame installed themes get deleted when using the eshop...
It's because you're accessing your sysNAND in which still has the same NAND ID as your emuNAND. And because it conflicts, it will remove any themes, if accessed. That's why you need to unlink your NANDs. In other words, format your sysNAND or emuNAND. It has absolutely nothing to do with accessing the eShop. But if it really is, please prove me wrong.
My themes, dlc and/or games aren't deleted when entering the eshop. How/Where do you get all those problems people? :| You are doing something wrong here.

Sent from my Nexus 5
I've never encountered that problem either. At least not yet anyways.

I don't think I ever installed an emuNAND.

So... I am legitimately confused. Do themes get removed when entering the eShop? Or not? I don't plan on getting emuNAND. I just want Luma3DS with themes. I may just use the CHMM2 CIA instead.

Ah okay, do you have a Nintendo Network ID linked to your 3DS? If so, it could be the cause. Or it might be something else. I haven't tested it out, but I have tested out a non-NNID NAND on O3DS and the apps and themes remain intact, even when accessing the eShop.

It really shouldn't. I've installed .cia files and themes and then accessed the eShop on my O3DS, and nothing happened. And I haven't tested it out on my New 3DS, so it might be a bit different.

I do have my Nintendo Network ID tied as I have lots of legitimate purchases I'd like to be kept associated with my console, and to be able to access the eshop to purchase more.

If you read my signature, you would see that I, too, have an Old3DS. I do have an NNID linked to it, so... IDK what to do.

Ah, I see. So from what I see, any consoles linked with a NNID will have any apps or themes without a valid RSA signature deleted from the system. It makes sense now.

Virtual console injects, FBI, and other installed apps seem to be fine, all I'm loosing are themes.
Ah, I think I know what it is.

I've had an experience with custom themes and official themes packed into a CIA, and they end up using the same ID as NES Jumping Mario theme. Which means if the eShop detects it, it renders it as a corrupt theme and removes it. While the Theme Shop will just say that the themes are corrupt and have to be deleted from settings.

This is why we need an ability to customise our own IDs for .CIA files. Otherwise it will conflict with official themes that are installed.

I have some news to say:
------------------------------
First of all: @Cpblack has made a tool for creating the name.txt files in a flash.
Link to the thread:
https://gbatemp.net/threads/howling-3ds-theme-formatter-tool.457403/
------------------------------
A new Howling Theme Tool version will be released soon.
Some of the new features:
- Themes WILL NOT get deleted if you visit the eShop or the Theme Shop (very special thanks to @redunka)
- Theme packages lists can be saved and loaded. Also, you can create your own "pre-made" theme packages.
- Temporary folder will be created next to the main .exe
- Volume Slider
- a lot of more...
------------------------------

Thanks! I will use this tool when I set up Luma.

What operating system are you running on your computer? Do you have the required .NET Framework installed? Have you got the latest updates for your computer installed?

Also, have you right clicked the .zip folder and clicked properties and selected the box where it says "Unblock" next to where it says something like "This file has come from another computer and may be blocked" (or something along those lines) and then clicked OK button? Some applications need to be unblocked in the properties window in order for them to function properly.

i hit the unblock option and still the same thing. cia now where to be found. Should attributes read only and hidden be selected? I tried both ways and still nothing. thanks
