So, I've been using luma + A9LH Sysnand. However, when I plan to do some things that I have fear that can brick or messing with the system, I do things on a Emunand I've created. Today I found out that I can't play Extra Ram games (ex: Sun) on my Emunand, but I can play it on Sysnand. How can I solve that? I installed a Randomized cia os Sun I made on the emunand and checked that neither the randomized cia neither my gamecard worked there. However, they work on Sysnand.

Quick question is it possible to update luma

I used rxtools before and now i have luma i think since the settings say emu 10.6 or something (with rxtools it said something else but not emu right?)

Is it safe to update it right know in the settings?

I assume you don't have a9lh installed. But yes is it always safe to update emunand in your case, provided than 1) you see "Emu" written 2) you go straight to other options > update

I might be done by the time I get a message back but how do you change from ReiNand CFW to Luma. I got a N3DS XL and the SysNand is 9.2 and I can get into Homebrew, ReiNand and other stuff on this purple screen then when on ReiNand it is on 11.2 EmuNand. I would not want to lose all the games and data on ReiNand but just want to change the type of Nand I am using. Thanks.

So I installed FBI and such, but the FBI app still has the Health and Safety picture on it. None of the cias are in app form on my home menu. I updated FBI and now I've got two, but the same issue is here. My version is 11.2.35-U

Pictures of what I mean:

I used this tutorial, but used updated files for Luma and A9LH, and got through everything fine.

Do I need to redo the entire process or...?

UPDATE: So... I just kinda formatted my entire system and my SD card, and the FBI file was still there. Then I accidentally held the power button and start button which would usually boot into Hourglass, but because that was removed the blue LED light just flashes on and off and nothing happens. Did I brick the system?

Do you have arm9loaderhax.bin on the root of your SD card?

Okay guys, can some Luma expert please elaborate how the config.bin creation exactly works? I asked in "Noob Paradise" but I think this thread fits better.

Quoting:
Where exactly does the CTR NAND based Luma save its settings to? The guide tells you to reinsert the SD and then press Start to save, but doesn't this mean it gets saved to the config.bin in /luma/ on your SD card? What is the point in saving this when you later may change the settings of your SD-based Luma anyway so the NAND-based Luma settings would be overwritten?

It saves it to the SD card. If you don't insert the SD card I think it asks you the settings again next time you start it up. If you want it to save to the CTR NAND then look at https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-kecleon-patch-for-luma3ds.455090

According to that thread there seem to two configs then, one for SD and one for NAND Luma. The NAND Luma settings are saved to /rw/luma/config.bin on your CTR NAND if you use the option "Save config.bin in CTRNAND" which will appear when you use the Kecleon patched arm9loaderhax.bin.
I checked that path on my NAND and strangely I do have a luma folder with a config.bin there. How is that possible? I never installed the Kecleon version, all I used was Aurora's original .bin (v6.6) when I followed the guide. At what step did it save settings to the NAND? I'm confused.

I'm confused too!! Maybe Luma saves the config to the CTR NAND if there's no SD card?

That could be but the thing is.. I pressed Start (save) on the settings screen after the SD card was reinserted, as written in the guide.
Wouldn't that mean it should go to the SD luma folder?

Alright, I fixed that issue, but now the only way my 3DS turns on is if the SD card is inserted, is there any way to fix this?
You need to copy the arm9loaderhax.bin to your CTR NAND.
Open FBI, select "SD" and follow these steps
  1. Navigate to arm9loaderhax.bin, then press (A) on it and select the “Copy” option
  2. Return to the FBI main menu with (B)
  3. Select “CTR NAND”
  4. Select “<current directory>”
  5. Select the “Paste” option, then press (A) to confirm
  6. Exit with the home button
