I deleted all my unused tickets using Tiksweep but all of my installed games are not showing in home menu. In Data Management I can see all of them but they are gray, with a "x" mark. How can I fix it?

they are not even there anymore

In that case you will have to use FBI to sweep your unused tickets and reinstall the cias after you have swept the tickets. go to FBI --> tickets click on the first entry and select Delete Unused Tickets. After that you can delete the files from your sd card as they are useless. This happens when you use the same sd card in another 3ds system or you formattet your system or did anything else so that the 3ds's nand can't access your games located in /Nintendo 3DS/.../...

go to settins --> data management and select nintendo 3ds--> software, what do you see there? if the title is greyed out with red X, you need to reinstall the tickets.
you can use fbi to install your tickets as ticket files, or you use the scan qr code option.

That means you must have restored a different NAND than the one they are installed on. For example if you installed them on sysNAND, then restored your emuNAND to sysNAND. You'll need to either restore the NAND they were installed on or delete your Nintendo 3DS folder to clear up the space and install them again (your save files will be lost if you didn't previously back them up with JKSM).

Hi there! I would really like some help with my 3ds. I'm currently running custom firmware via arm9loaderhax.
My firmware is 11.2j emunand and 4.2 sysnand.
I followed the 3ds.guide to install it with no hitch, except that certain games do not work online or with streetpass. For example, Mario kart 7 works with no problems online, but animal crossing new leaf and smash will prompt me to sign the user service agreement in the internet settings (which I already have)
Additionally Majora's mask will not even open without crashing.
All other titles work offline and can be updated through Freeshop. Can anybody help me?

So I've been out of the nintendo handheld scene since buying a DSOne for my DS a couple of years ago. I'm looking to get a 3DS, but I'm not sure what's the newest firmware 3DS are shipped with or whats the best option are these days. I see this link posted earlier, https://3ds.guide/ is that the only guide I would have to follow if I were to buy a new 3DS at a retail store? Are they able to play online? Thanks

This is considered the definitive guide. it's even been translated in several languages and it is kept up to date + it walks you through from untouched to fully modded. If you have been out for that long I recommend reading the guide first and also read the FAQs on the subreddit

My friend got his sd corrupted aka he lost all files, we both have a9lh+luma3ds and new 3ds xl, my question is, can i make a zip with all my files and then give these files to my friend? or they are unique-per-console? Thank you

You can share the files that are not oficially related to nintendo (Luma cfw, homebrew, payloads...) but you cannot share the others (Nintendo 3ds folder, where games are installed) because they are, as you said, encrypted by-console

Are there any issues with going online with Luma? Do Nintendo still roll out the banhammer and whatnot as its been a while.
Only if you play a game online before release, and possibly if you cheat online or play out of region games online (not certain about the last two).

So, I'm trying to simply mod my 2DS with Soundhaxx. No big deal. I've disabled write-protection. But when I try to drag my files into my SD card, my PC still says it's write-protected. I'm scared that if I format it, it will still be write-protected and then I won't be able to drag my files in. Even then, it's already formatted in FAT32. Anyone have a fix?

[EDIT: It's a Toshiba SDHC 4GB card.]

Is the notch on the side of the sd card set to lock?

I have two questions. I already got A9LH + Luma, just asking out of curiosity because I like to understand things. :)

1. In the last steps of Plailect's guide it says the following:
  1. Press (Start) to reboot with the SD card removed
    • Booting the device at least once with the SD card removed will allow you to configure the CTRNAND based Luma3DS installation
  2. Use the (A) button and the D-Pad to turn on the following:
    • “Show NAND or user string in System Settings”
  3. If you are using a New 3DS, you can also enable the following:
    • “New 3DS CPU” to “Clock+L2(x)”
    • This will increase the framerate of many games, but may cause instability in others
    • If some games do not work properly, disable this option and try again
  4. Reinsert your SD card, then press (Start) to save and reboot!
Where exactly does the CTR NAND based Luma save its settings to? The guide tells you to reinsert the SD and then press Start to save, but doesn't this mean it gets saved to the config.bin in /luma/ on your SD card? What is the point in saving this when you later may change the settings of your SD-based Luma anyway so the NAND-based Luma settings would be overwritten?

2. Is it advisable to update the NAND-based Luma from time to time by copying a new arm9loaderhax.bin to the CTR NAND and overwrite the old one? I read somewhere that it's bad for the NAND chip to write on it too often.
