update to a9lh luma to avoid losing CFW (also RXtools is obsolete and it isnt been supported)
I was reading a tutorial about how to upgrade to a9lh luma but got stucked on one step: I need to know if my 3DS have browser or not, did I just need to open the internet browser and see if it works?

First, id recommend this guide 3ds.guide.
Second, you can check it on the 3ds version.
If the version is -0 then you do not have a browser, while any number above -0 indicates a browser is installed.
If you updated with a game cart containing the version 9.9.0 or above (meaning that you have a version on 9.9.0 or above, but your browser is on -25 or lower, such as 10.2.0-24), your browser was removed and you will need to use the “No Browser” column.

So I'm trying to start modding the 2DS I bought, but for some reason whenever I enter the SD card that came with the 2DS to my SD card reader, the reader stops functioning completely, until the card is removed. I can't tell whether the card or the reader is faulty (the reader has multiple slots, and the microSD slot works fine).

So ... Is there any way I can actually transfer files to the 2DS's SD Card when the SD card does not have HBL files on it?´

Nvm: Got it to work just once .. but it was enough, as HBL as FTP in it.

Okay, how do I unscrew the back plate of the New 3DS? I did it once before, but for some reason I put it back and screwed it back despite needing to get to my SD Card more. I can unscrew the right screw, it clicks just fine. But I can't do the left one for some reason. Any idea why? Is the screw messed up? Sorry for the horrible quality picture.

Your NNID gets transfered the first time, so why it wouldnt go back with the game the 2nd time?
So you mean I should make a NNID for my 2DS, it gets bounded to the game,
then transfer the 3DS as described in the guide, call Nintendo to unbind the 3DS NNID from the 2DS and then i can get back the game on the 2DS and login with my NNID?
Thought about that too but sounded too simple and couldn't find anything about this problem :D

Yep, or you could just wait the week and transfer back

Do you have access to HBL? If so, just use the built-in FTP application to transfer files over the network. It's slow for transferring games but for apps etc. it works just fine and saves you the trouble of removing the SD card every time.

I transfer games over FTP too because it's just easier .. Takes an hour or so per game but eh, whatever.

Hmm okay. But waiting a week would be no option, my friend wants to get it back soon, so you're sure that the NNID on the 2DS is as before after calling Nintendo?
Or would it be no problem for him if the NNID is on my 2DS, can he play games as usual?

Oh and what I wanted to say before you answered...
Only thing I could find about this was that if I leave my 2DS without NNID, the pre-installed game becomes part of the account that I transfer on the 2DS.

Need a spot of help. I'm trying to downgrade a 10.6E 3DS XL. I'm using The Homebrew Launcher (Browser) tutorial and I'm at the Decrypt 9 stage. I'm at the stage of the tutorial that I'm already on 9.2 but now need to get back into homebrew, however I cannot get back into homebrew. When I press down and press the power button, it boots straight into the home menu, when I try and use the QR or web address to get into homebrew, the browser starts to boot, the screen changes into different colours but then the browser freezes before it boots to the home screen with the error message pictured above. Any help and advise with this will be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance guys.

How do I know if I installed A9LH successfully? I'm following the guide, but when on 2.1 and going to the address on browser, I got a glitched screen. Yes, I know the guide tells you what to do, but given that the screen is glitched I can't know whether it was actually installed or not. So, how do I tell? Last thing I want to do is update and lose everything if it's NOT installed.

I'm not sure, but maybe you can run decrypt9 to dump your current NAND and check if it has firm0/1 corrupted

"Second, you can check it on the 3ds version."- Are you talking about the sysNAND version?

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
