Just two; one LED fan in the front and one standard in the back. They're all 120mm, though, and 4 more total can be added after you buy it

Awesome, also still on the fence about motherboards; I don't want one that's cheap, but I don't want one that's super pricey either.

How many fans came with it?
"Enthoo Pro includes 1 x 200mm fan in front and 1 x 140mm fan in the rear. Ability to upgrade to additional fans is possible. All fans included are Phanteks' new redesigned and better performing SP series fans. Budget friendly case, Phanteks' Enthoo Pro, unleash unlimited possibilities."

Just making sure, wouldn't hurt to get an extra fan or so, but then again with the PSU, CPU fan and GPU fan, that's three extra fans in a sense :P The fun part will be having to backip my data and reinstall Windows

You really should have your OS on an SSD. That's cheap and they last almost forever. The performance difference is baffling.

Hmm, trying to keep the budget at reasonable levels, so far I'm up to <$500 for all the parts thus far. Yeah, no doubt about that, how big and what brand of SSD? Will need to make sure the case, mobo, PSU, etc have all the right number of SATA connections for my two HDDs and the SSD.

Fastest random write you can find is a good start, make sure it's SATA III. The random read and write speed is more important than the consecutive read and write speed because defragmenting wears them out faster. I only buy Western Digital, every Seagate I've had has had short lifespans. I'd also recommend a 250GB so you can install Adobe or torrent a little.

I had two Enthoo pros and sent them both back. The paint finish on them was shocking (poor finish, thin paint in areas, just overall poor, not what I expect from a case at that price) and the QC was just as bad, both of them had various little knicks and imperfections on the plastic parts, I wouldn't touch phanteks until they use some decent paint.

I don't trust torrents to be honest, but as for OSes, not entirely sure how to go about it since I don't have Windows 10 or a key for it.

I can't say exactly where, code of conduct, but I torrented an All in One Windows 10 torrent from " the most resilient torrent site on the web" just last night and fixed an old laptop. Just use peer protection if you don't own it, whereas I do and just didn't want to rip the disc.

If you need windows 10 you can still upgrade from 7/8 for free, if that helps.

I went with a Corsair 750D Airflow in the end. A bit on the expensive side and is huge, but I was limited by choice as I didn't want a side window or case that's covered in moulded plastic and those two options severely limited your choice (even with the 750d, I had to buy the solid side panel seperate).

I thought that expired? Besides, I can't do that without losing 7, and I'd want it on another partition. You can't choose when to install it if you upgrade, unfortunately.

Yeah, the normal upgrade is over, but they left it free for anyone who uses assistive services like magnifier, or TTS. It doesnt check if you use them though, so you can just download and install the update from Microsoft for free.

  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
never had that i don't think
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
