When you save after adding a new talisman it will show a popup window that tells you how many new talisman were created; was the number reported as expected?
If you load the edited save back into the editor, do you still see the new talisman?
In terms of location, new talisman are always created in the next empty slot in your equipment box, and depending on how your equipment is organized it may appear in a not so obvious position.

I'm still on box 1 and I auto sort my equipment box so talismans would be the last items on the box. I've edited one talisman and created one more from scratch but when I save it states only "1 new".

considering only one was created (the other merely edited), that is correct.

Is there an online skills-limit list?
The .txt is so confusing, almost the skills aren't in english :/

Try v0.4.1.0.
I added a new skill preview window that shows you what the skill max/min values are for each talisman grade; it's a nice little popup window that follows your mouse around as you navigate the skill table.
It also responds to the language changes, so you don't have to read Japanese anymore :D.

I'm just wondering what the rules are for talismans, it seems like some of the ones I can make are impossible, but don't give any warnings. I made a +5 normal up +10 maestro 3 slots, queen, seems like I would never actually find this in the wild...

It's not that that is particularly impossible; it's just insanely improbable. For example, in MH4U it's possible to obtain a mystic charm with 3 slots, Mounting +8, and Evasion +9 but I doubt you'd feasibly be able to roll that randomly in-game. It's not impossible and it fits legal charm specs, but it's essentially god-tier and not likely to ever show up in-game.

Thanks. I would like to make something more reasonable... Not so blatantly hacked. I wonder what would be a more reasonable +10 maestro tali... I wonder how I can figure out which combinations are god tier.

Also, I wouldn't waste too much sleep about it. The RNG for charms is simply bull.

Example? In 4U, I made a custom-quest for Enduring Charms (the green ones), I wasted over 2000 quests on getting something useful.
It never happend.

Same with Cross: I created a custom-quest with Timeworns and wasted again 300 Quests and still nothing really useful.

Don't lose sleep over good charms, 'cuz you only help yourself and others by bringing the best possible stuff to a hunt.
On top of that, it is so refreshing to throw those charms into Athena's Ass and being able to create those ridiculous armors (Load Up, AuM, Artillery Novice, Razor Sharp, Weakness Exploit) only to name an example.

This. I still remeber my favorite CB set in 4U. Had AuL, HGE, Speed Eating +2, Latent Power+2 , Artillery God and Guard Boost (bc Guard Boost made things like Gravios even more of a joke). The only thing modified was the charm (still with legal values: 14 in Attack and Artrillery, 3 slot) but it was so satisfying to use. G-rank monsters regularly went down before the timer could tick over to the 5 minute mark and 'boss monsters' like Shah Dalamadur went down in under 15 even when solo'd. Of course I did have a god-relic CB I rolled (300 para, 1224 power) wit it but that was jsut the finishing touch.

The best part tho: my outfit matched the CB. teh CB was a red glow Elendskraft (purple inner glow, red edges) and my outfit (Garuga mask, Fan Club Goldsuit, Excello Vambraces [the high rank ones, bc one extra point in Hearing vs the G-rank version], Excello Coil Z, Excello Greaves Z) paralleled that (torso/head colored purple, arms/waist/legs red). It was the perfect blend of an OP set and fashion hunting at its finest.

As Coffee Prosecutor said, though: compared to everything else in the game, Charms are the most random, most BS luck-based element in the game - even taking into account 4U's melding option. I have no qualms with editing charms within legal limits and neither did anyone I played with online (I made sure to inform all that asked, too, so I wasn't just avoiding mentioning it).

Another question for all, I noticed when I opened my save that some of the legit charms I had were showing errors in the program, like they were impossible, why is that?

So we can now properly make charms of any tier? That sounds promising.

I've been looking to get some specific values for some skills, but I know they don't appear on the Dragon tier of charm.
Always found that weird, how the higher the tier of charm, the less overall options it got. Some skills you can't get at all at high tier.

It's not quite clear to me what you mean. You can just select any 2 skills and adjust the level as you wish.
If the level becomes red then that means it likely won't be allowed in game; if you attempt to load such a talisman it will show as a blank one with no skills.
If the skill you want can't get a high enough level for your needs, try adjusting the talisman grade as this tends to change the limit quite a bit; as a general rule the biggest difference occurs at Rare 4.
In any case there isn't a full list anywhere because it's not pre-determined; everything is randomly generated when you acquire a new talisman.

Well, yeah, I've been trying that, and I don't have much luck making valid talismans. That's why I was hoping there was a handy guide showing the valid values per rank of Talisman, so I could just put together something useful without all the blind guessing.

You're looking at MH4U Values. in MHGen the max for FastCharge is +5

That's odd. Because according to other people, a +6 Fast Charge charm is possible. But they didn't say what tier is was.
That's for MHG.

Apparently there's some MHX speedruns where the person had a +6 FC charm.

That's because the skill limits are incomplete and contain best-guesses.
If you wouldn't mind sending me your save I can update the skill limits so that we have the correct values.

This is a known issue I'm afraid, and has been occurring ever since the latest virus definition update (even for me).
I have already sent a sample to Microsoft but I don't know when they will update the definitions to fix this.

Handicraft can only appear in the second skill slot, and fast charge has only a -3 ~ 3 range in the second skill slot.
Try reversing the order of the skills.


Alright, just tried. Didn't work. Talisman still came out blank 0/0 stats. Albeit I can view the stats in the Sort/view talisman menu...
