Why would they already have updated discs of HW out? Didn't the original version just come out fairly recently?

I could see Super Mario having a new update, since they also changed the case (its red now), and they could then list Pro controller support (without needing a downloaded patch), but that game's been out quite a while and HW hasn't.

Nintendo adds a new update on games already released earlier? This does not make sense to me .. This is the first time I heard this and I find it suspect if this is the case.

Any word on which updates are on Captain Toad and NES Remix? I know they technically don't come out until tomorrow, but maybe someone got it early or something, so I'll just ask now and if no one knows yet, oh well, I have to wait.

The 3ds still has carts coming out that have 4+ month old firmwares so its not surprising. 3rd parties seem to use much older SDK's than Nintendo for whatever reason.

Do they have to buy a new devkit when the new SDKs are released? That might explain why.

Also, I'm curious how you guys are populating this list. I can certainly get a bunch of games that aren't on here (Just Dance 2015 for example, which is fairly new so it might have a 5.x), but since my Wii U is already fully updated, it won't do much good if the only way to tell is by inserting it into a non-updated system.

Ah, OK

Does someone here actually have a Wii U on 1.0 that they don't actually play games with who determines the updates for older titles? LOL

Sorry I can't be of use then. My local library does really cheap game rentals so I would offer to test them, but I keep my Wii U fully updated because of the eShop and online multiplayer, sorry :/

It's being done by dumping the disc and decrypting/looking at the update partition :P

Is this actually possible, or are you being sarcastic?
I know there are scene dumps out there, but I don't know of any way to actually extract the contents yet. I'd love to know of a way if one exists.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.
