Awesome, thanks! I tried that out and now I can load Spirit Tracks models, animations, and textures! :D

It's kinda buggy, though, and the model viewer's controls are awful. (Plus there's no option to re-center the view...)
Still cool!

I wish I could find Spirit Zelda's name. Spirit Tracks' NPCS are named with four letters...ugh.

Escape: Reset the position
T: Top View
Z: Left
X: Right
A: Up
S: Down
<-: Rotate Left
->: Rotate Right
^: Rotate Up
\/: Rotate Down

Hello, if you don't play mkwii, you probarly don't know me, but I'm MrKoeikoei. I've been following the progress on this amazing tool, so I decided to create an account.

I can't wait to get my hands on this tool! I'd like to create custom tracks for MKWii using MK7's models.

Good luck on your project :-)

Ew... Now that's what I call counter productive.

First thing I'm gonna do is attempt to port a Wii map, or a DS map. Gericom, is the conversion process between the Wii and previous generations a terrible setup for the 3DS? As in, are there a lot of things that need to be changed, or is it a fairly straight-forward procedure? Would be cool if the logic behind the new file setup is similar to the Wii's, besides the new file format, of course.

The setup of a course in mkdd, mkds, mkwii and mk7 is all almost the same. Just a couple of format changes. Conversion should be rather straight forward.

After getting a 3D model, it isn't a lot of work anymore. I also ported a track from N64:

Yeah, I know it's not hard. It's just... What motive do you have to work with Mario Kart Wii anymore? Mario Kart 7's got online play, meaning we can 1-on-1 friends with custom tracks.

MKWii has online play as well, some days ago I played custom track with my friend, just 1-on-1. MKWii does not bore me yet, and I like it better than MK7.

Maybe because the wii is a console instead of a handheld, and because some people (including me) do not have a 3ds, but do have a wii.

You should get a 4.x 3DS brah.

That's one of the reasons indeed. I prefer a console. I also like the bikes in MKWii, which are removed in MK7.

Yeah, Mario Kart 7 isn't the greatest thing ever, unfortunately. I agree with ya, it's missing a lot, and it feels really rushed (Because it was).

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
