Ugh, can anybody give me some input on what I'm doing wrong here?

Following the instructions, I finish part 1 no problem. I can put the iso into CFW and run the game with no issues.

When I do step 2, I can no longer run the game and instead get the following message
"The game could not be started (80020148)".

Anyone know how to fix this? Games a blast, but I'd really like to be able to read stuff.

Which firmware are you running? GEN?

Uh, 6.20 PRO-B10 is what it says in system software. Been awhile since I soft modded this psp. The system itself is a old 1000.

Hmm, it should work for you then. I had no problems running it on 6.20 Pro-C and 6.60 Pro-C. Googling for that error just leads to a bunch of people having problems running isos, but once they updated from GEN firmware it started to work. I think it should be fine on B-10.

So it just won't load after patching with the .ppf files? You're sure you're patching the iso after it has been decrypted?
I don't know what else to try, to be honest...

I can't be sure, but with Pro C you don't even need to patch isos, you can just play them clean. CFW Patched ISOs tend to be messy and confusing.
I think it's best to find a clean one. The decryption step isn't so it can be played on CFW, it's just so the eboot is readable to the translation patch.

many iso's are Prepatched with Prometheus Patch, that was probably the problem.

I am going to redo the patch, since some areas are messy or incomplete, and release a final menu /glossary patch. Story is off limits to me. :/

But yeah you can already download the one that the screenshots show!

so when will a fully patched iso be out?? ik id enjoy it more if i understood certain things. like after the first battle and stahn is talking. maybe you will have this game patchhed out soon so it can be uploaded to play. i appreciate ur continued patience and wrok. loving the game so far.

I don't think there are plans to complete this unless he can get help. He suggested the story is "off limits".

I will be looking for Japanese to English translators. You can do a few misc lines of text a day or even a full section of a story mode, at your own pace. I will have the spreadsheets ready for you. Just remember that space is a factor. NO GOOGLE TRANSLATORS. I wouldn't be requesting help if that was an option, as I could do that myself. Machine translation is bad. No exceptions.

I have a blog here. I use it for daily updates and thoughts while doing the translation (basically all of the posts I make in this thread will be posted in the blog first.)
