I'm using the very latest revision of USB Loader GX r1207 mod1. I used to use r1204... maybe I'll downgrade USB Loader GX and see if that was the problem.

No other games so far are giving me problems, just super smash bros melee. Unfortunately that is the game I play most using DIOS MIOS. I'll downgrade USB Loader GX from r1207 mod1 to r1205 and let you know if it works.

THIS WORKS! For everyone having problems with dios mios (black screens, etc.) try downgrading USB Loader GX. It worked for me!

Please try again but disabling the pad hook, for test purposes.

Wiiflow doesn't have this option, so I tried with DML Booter. I could not reset the wii pressing L+R+Z+Start, is this that padhook off means, right? I chose NTSC 480p for video mode and was able to launch the game. It was in 480i but at least it launched.

I suppose it was something with Dios Mios because in version 2.3 which I used the game started perfectly at 480p. Then when I installed version 2.6, without doing anything different, it no longer started. Only when I changed the video setting to "game" is that it worked but in 480i.

I'm sure he'll get it done. He's taking a break from the Wii to focus on the Wii U. I donated when he needed a hdd and I have faith he will not abandon this wonderful project!

just stop asking him the same question over and over.
If he will work on it or not has the same result for you: you don't have access to it anyway until he decide to work and release it.

begging is often worse, it make developers feel like you deserve it while it's only a hobby.
Be happy with what you currently have :)
He didn't say he gave up on it, it's only on break for unknown time (maybe short, who knows).

I'm sure you have enough games to play until next release, you won't get bored anytime soon ;)

Audio streaming would be amazing. You should know that your work is very appreciated Crediar, and I wish you the best for christmas.

I've been wondering this for a while now but I can't find the answer anywhere...what exactly is "audio streaming" and why are some discs equipped with it while others aren't?

It's KINDA like having an old CD audio track on the disk like how Age of Empires I&II worked (Not quite the same thing but it's the best analogy.)
Instead of the game processing the music and voice files themselves and playing them back it has the Wii or GameCube do it for it. It just basically says "start playing audio from X part of the disk and tell me when you're done." so it can just sit back and worry about other parts of the game and not worry about it. Some games just decided to play their music the old fashioned way and others didn't.

The problem this makes with DM(L) is it's already faking that the disk is there when it's really on USB or SD so when the game tells the hardware "start playing music" the hardware's like "wait a second, there's no disk in there to play" so the best that has been done so far is to just have it ignore those requests or convince it not to ask in the first place which makes the game PLAYABLE but still kinda quiet.

What needs to be done is have the DM(L) take those requests ITSELF, reading and interpreting the music and voice information from the disk ISO IMAGE and mix it in with the other sound effects that are being played by the game the normal way.

I am not the most technical guy out here, but there is something with the audio getting constantly streamed from a separate "track" on the disc simultaneously as you play. This is apparently hard to emulate, as this is a problem as well on Dolphin emulator for PC.

EDIT: Maxternal beat me to it, and he did a much better explanation!

I don't think Dolphin has this problem. Wave Race Blue Storm plays all audio tracks normally on Dolphin.

Exactly, this. ;)
But I also think so many people feel like, "we're so close to perfection of GC loading, why stop now?" which is probably why there are so many people still asking/begging/?? for audio streaming.
I can sympathize with that as I too would like my preferred method of GC loading complete but, if I really have to play Ikaruga or Monkey Ball etc, I can use Devo while Crediar finishes his final (?) touch on DM.
Too many games to play in a lifetime anyways~ :P

Dolphin had problems with audio stream on Eternal Darkness and Star Fox Adventures one year ago. However, things can be tweaked to work. And nowadays, it might even be fixed. I don´t know though, as I don´t use Dolphin.

Thanks for that explanation! That makes perfect sense! I have two more questions for you guys if you don't mind:

I hate to burst your bubble buddy but we're far from perfection, aside from audio streaming we still have many things to fix like games that still don't work such as Kao The Kangaroo and Phantasy Star Online 3, games that still ask for a disk in the drive like Sonic Gems Collection and Spider-Man, games that still crash a lot like Mega Man X Command Mission, also the compatibility for NMM is nowhere near perfect, and we still have to have two versions of DM(L) one for SD and one for USB while Devo lets you use both at the same time, some might suggest merging Quadforce too!

The point is DM is great I recommend it to everyone with a hacked Wii that can run GC disks but it's far from perfection!

Dolphin is emulating everything, the CPU AND the SPU
DIOS MIOS is only a MIOS and doesn't replace/emulate any SPU functions (which is a hardware chipset, not a software you can replace like MIOS). The hardware part is still done by the Wii itself.

Not all games have a progressive setting.
The Progressive Patch force the game to stay in 480p, even if it was designed for 576i
The games that already support 480p can have problems if you use the "Force Progressive" atop of it.

For the widescreen hack, I think you mixed the two screenshot/videos origin. There were two different hack, the old one included in dolphin which DM has, and the new one in Dolphin only.
The widescreen hack in DM is stretching the menus/HUD (link's head is at the edge of the picture)
The new widescreen hack (not in DM yet) is not stretching them (it's on Dolphin not DM)
I used your own links.
