Hacking Zelda OOT compatibility

Hello,

I'm new at owning a 3DS and have been eagerly reading these forums and stickies to determine what I need to do to explore playing ROM backups. I have purchased a New 3DS XL from Target running firmware 9.0. I have also purchased OOT.

I've checked the OOT thread and my cartridge does not match one of those listed in the thread. Is there a way to find out if this cartridge will function with the modified save, before purchasing a Gateway Flashcard?

Just trying to get everything aligned while deciding from which website I am going to get the Gateway Flashcard.

There's a thread around here somewhere that includes a save file that works with Non-Working carts.
