Gaming Zelda BOTW Warm Doublet?

Hi guys. I have a Zelda BOTW save file near beginning of game on the Great Plateau. I found the Old Man's Cabin and he wants a recipe for something. I have the 3 ingredients and made the recipe. I tried talking to the old man when I found him hunting in woods, but he didn't give me the Warm Doublet (?) or whatever it is called. How do I get it? I completed 2 of the 4 Shrines on the Great Plateau, was going to tackle the 3rd one in the cold mountain area, but would like to get the Warm Doublet beforehand. Any thoughts and help greatly appreciated
