USB mass storage device tester is a small application that:

you can use the SD card, just not in a very practical way -- transfers take foreverr.

the Wii wasnt built to take WiiWare at first. Nintendo got scared cuz PS3 n Xbox360 are realsing 3rd party games and Wii wasnt

Partially correct. The USB port isn't locked to anything, the guys who created the homebrew USB Mass Storage Controller code just haven't written support for USB 2 yet.
