Ok I've looked through this thread:
    http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=1246402
If you scroll down, it says:
[ requirements ]After a few pages, other people post about something got to do with recovery mode and different ROMs.

My question is that will this work on a stock rooted 2.3.4 xperia play? (im sure the answer is yes but I just want to make sure).
Coz im planning to do this but I havent done anything fancy such as unlocking the bootloaders, kernels etc

Wouldnt this be a better question for that XDA forum thread, ya know the one thats specifically about that mod. Instead of here where very few people know anything about that specific mod

From the sounds of things, yes, it will work on a stock rooted rom, with a recovery such as CWM, but ask in the thread you linked to for a better answer.

Sounds like you don't have a working recovery, so no you can't.

However, you can get the Bravia Engine from the Xperia Tweak app, as well as some other enhancements.
