Going to reinstall Windows XP(SP3) to my Thinkpad T40. Will it have all the volume bar indicator (when I press the volume up button will the indicator come up on the screen) and other stuff like that?. Thanks

No, it will not. BUT, you can download it at lenovo's driver site. It's probably called on-screen display. In fact, you should go there right now before you reinstall! Download the following:

Ethernet Drivers (probably the most important)
    Sound Drivers
    Video Drivers
    On-Screen Display Tool

Let windows update do the rest [IMG]

    --- Edit

This should be the link to get your drivers. You'll have to fill in your model and whatever. You can find your thinkpad model under your laptop in this format (probably): TYPE ####-??? . Example: 8185-D3U. It's a bit weird, but your model isn't exactly "T40"... while it is, but there are many different variations of the "T40". T40 is a "Family".
