Hello,
First, sorry if my english is bad

I just got 2 PAL gamecube from ebay, because i wanted to install a xeno gc and give one to my girlfriend and keep one for me
I've take a picture from one, and it's i think it's really bad...i think the guy who sold me this tried before to install a modchip and failed

Do you think the motherboard is dead or maybe i can repair it ? and how ?
Or maybe i can try to install a xeno gc ?

Thank you

Does the GameCube work at all? That looks pretty bad so I'm guessing not
If nothing is shorted, the console should be working normally – just hard connect the XenoGC. A failed modding attempt should be mentioned when selling a system.

Looks like a failed attempt of zero wire installation. Probably did not work, and desoldering is complicated with zero wires → easy to rip off solder pads.

I'm not an expert. Maybe somebody else has more ideas. What I would try if the drive is working normally with legit discs, is finding alternative points and try the six wires installation (or send this thing back if the damage hasn't been mentioned)

Good luck!

Mostly just nasty dried/burnt flux and a couple of ripped pads.

Just clean it and do a wire install using alt points for the damaged pads.

Yeah, just give it a good clean with Isopropyl alcohol, a lot of that mess is just burnt/excess flux.

Shows the points, just match the colours. For the undamaged pads/tracks, you can use any of the same coloured points.

For the damaged top right point (red on the picture). You will have to use the via (the red dot in the centre).

Damaged top left (pink) is connected directly the the track above it, so you can just scratch off some of the solder mask to expose more copper and use that.

Damaged bottom left (green), is connected directly to the track below it. So again, can just scratch off some solder mask to expose copper and use that as the point.
