Oldies Reprogramming and re-use a Aladdin Advanced (Xbox OG) modchip?

Some time ago I removed a "Aladdin Advanced" modchip from a Xbox OG with 1.4 board because it was not needed after flashing the TSOP.

Now I want to re-use this modchip on a 1.6 board with A-B01 Xyclops (so no XycloMod possible). I tried taking out the 49LF020 to reprogram Cerbios to it using a Willem Programmer. But it fails halfway with a verification error. I'm not sure if the EEPROM is dead or the Willem Programmer is at fault.

I assume it's not possible to install this chip in the Xbox before programming, because there's no valid BIOS on the EEPROM now to boot from.

Is there any other method to try reprogramming this modchip? I've read something about using a USB-TTL adapter, but that's for a Aladdin XT, not the "Advanced".

You'll need an actual programmer like an Xgecu T48, T56, T76, etc, since those programmers will support chips with a broad variety of programming methods.

I don't think a Willem Programmer supports whatever that chip actually is (at least I assume it has been resurfaced and a fake silkscreen put on.)

You CAN technically hotswap the chip before flashing on the Xbox, but good luck with that lol

The Willem Programmer should be able to program LPC EEPROM's because I used it in the past for PC BIOS EEPROM's like 49LF002. But it's old, I'm not sure if it's still 100% fine now.

You mean the 49LF020 is a fake 49LF020? The programmer software sees it as a SST/Sanyo 49LF020.
