Game looks..... disappointing really. I never believed people when they said Wii has graphics the same quality as PSP, but now that I finally have a PSP and am playing some stunning games, I must believe them..... God, this is hardly above the PSX!

In my TV looks fucking awesome and definitely better than PSP or PSP. You have to think that the game is running those big field maps and the lack of long loading times. Just looks the old videos or better yet, the Field Map Exploration videos.

And if that isn't enough, just look this or better yet, this.

Obvious troll is obvious.
If you would post more on these forums you'd know I'm not a graphics whore at all and that I'm genuinely looking forward to this game. Calling me a troll just because I point out the graphics don't look that good is rather unnecessary.

Maybe a lapse of judgment but he's certainly not a troll

I wouldn't say their PSP graphics. I think the game looks alright, although not stunning, and the animations aren't exactly impressive. Graphically it looks about the same as maybe FFXII.

Sorta looking forward to this game and I'll most likely pirate it. Not sure if it'll be any fun though.

At least worth a try

Too bad I don't really enjoy playing Wii overall...

Oh, I didn't know the game had a New game+ mode.
Like if 120 Hours were not enough ahah

But I guess if we won't use a guide for the first run, we will miss quests which can't be triggered later.
Some quests have specific time range to trigger

Though, like said on NeoGAF review, it seems there's no bestiary/NPC/(Quest maybe too?) listing to know how much we did in the game and know if we completed it 100% or not.

Someone know if the PAL release is only a translation or if there are in game changes or fixes too? (like 99h59 as max time is pretty ridiculous, don't include it at all if it can't count properly or think it's not important)

I might try this game just because Yasunori Mitsuda worked on the soundtrack. I listen to the Chrono Trigger and Cross OST's almost daily.

Mitsuda only composed the ending song. The other composers - which include Yoko Shimomura - still did a great job, though.

I'm so hyped about this game!!
Btw... any news on The Last Story and Pandora's Tower localization?

NoE already said at Japan Expo that Last Story was set for a 2012 release. They said later Pandora Tower was also set for a 2012 release. You can easily find those things with google.

Also, I am not so excited about Pandora Tower. The thing is not even a RPG. A girl with a whip killing monsters? This is the same thing as God of War, Castlevania and what others did. It's not a RPG, but an action game. After seeing gameplay on youtube and even playing the game in japanese, this is definitely not a jRPG, it's not even a RPG, It's definitely action or maybe action adventure.

You play as a man in Pandora's Tower. And it does have RPG elements, it just isn't turn based.

That's a game like Castlevania, whichd efinitely isn't a RPG. You might as well tell every games are RPGs since you assume the role of a character in them.

Definitely not a rpg, that's basically a copy of Castlevania Lord of Shadow. All this whip usage and all this platforming.

Have you ever heard of an action rpg? Just because you don't take turns doesn't mean it isn't an rpg.

for me :
• You win exp and become stronger by killing enemies -> it's a RPG (Like Castlevania 2D (Plateform RPG), Seiken densetsu (being Action RPG as it's not turned base))
• Enemies doesn't give exp, you can skip their battles because you become stronger only when you find upgrade items -> it's an action/adventure game. (like Zelda, Metroid, or Castlevania 3D)

• Sometime it's in-between, You don't directly get exp by killing enemies but your equipment or skill level up.
The limit between RPG and not RPG is thin for me in this case, just the game feeling determine it.

Though, there are also RPG without exp or hitpoint at all : Text-RPG like Suikogaiden or Radical dreamers. but it's more Text adventure games than RPG.
I don't consider "Playing a Role" as being a RPG, because EVERY games in the world where you move characters you are playing their roles, but they are not forcefully a j-RPG.

And I don't consider Tales of and Star Ocean as Action-RPG, but as traditional J-RPG. It's not because it's not turn based that it's action RPG. For me, A-RPG is when you don't have specific Battle phase, when you do your actions on the enemies directly on the traveling field (like Secret of Mana).

On an old thread I participated, we argued about each other's opinion about what is really a RPG, and everyone has his own view.
He think Pandora tower is not, for you it is. That's all. Just a point of view about what you consider being a RPG. for me, "Exp winning" is the key.

Sorry, but that's not an action rpg. An action rpg would be like Tales series or star ocean, where you don't take turns.

From what you're saying, Castlevania, Devil May Cry and even God of War would be a rpg, but they're not. That game is basically a copy of castlevania and that's not an action rpg.

If this was an action rpg, then you could consider every games where a character has a weapon and health point running around killing monsters an action rpg, but they are not. Why not consider Zelda an action rpg while you're at it?

Note: 1000th post.

What do you consider Monster Hunter.
