Hi All,

I was in the process earlier of replacing my xbox 360 slim dg-16d4s PCB card into another drive. However in the process I have managed to burn the solder pad where the red wire connects to, so im thinking now im going to have to go down the road of reading DVD drive key and flashing onto a new PCB. I have some questions.

a)Does anyone know exactly what the red wire does in the drive?
b)Is there an easy solution to get the red wire connected again somehow?
c)If im going to flash, which is the best\safest method to use for my drive (winboard chip)
d)what additional equipment will I need and is it available in the UK?

Thanks

Scrape away a bit of the trace and connect the wire there.

I personally say just extract the DVD key and go for an Xkey.
Burning discs is... just not really worth it, seeing an Xkey has got more benefits.

If you're keen on it, get a USB Pro V2 or V1 and a CK3i along with a Sputnikchip (if me memory serves me right atm)
