is it possible to reuse a wsl virtual drive on another pc? everytime I've tried deleting the original drive to put an older version on my laptop, it's corrupted upon boot. it even does this if I replace the files in the appdata folder. what exactly is this using to determine whether you're using the right virtual drive?

Another question, I'm going to get my new computer set up over the next few days, and I was wondering if I should install windows 10 or keep windows 11? Will this affect the Linux drive backups? They were made on windows 10, and this computer should have windows 11. Thanks.

We have success. Linux drive works. You have to use wsl 1, then convert to 2 after injecting the files through cmd line. However, it can be wsl 2 to backup. It may be possible to inject on wsl 2, but the folders it mentioned are not there with wsl 2. It uses an ext4 drive. It can be used on windows 11.
