Hacking Worried about piracy

Ever since i was 7 I've been pirating Gba roms, Gc, anything you can think off, and i never recieved an email ahaha. But I've never downloaded of a torrent, they are so freaking slow!!!!!!

Yea... I have well over 200 pirated Wii games not to count NDS roms and other loads of pirated games and software in my library... not including previous machines loaded with old pirated vintage classics such as Commmodore 64, Amiga, Atari, all most every game system emulator and roms I have... I don't do anything with the stuff but just keep it stored... even the games I have for the Wii now... that I have managed to get quite a few at 2.3mbs speeds (private torrent sites and ftps)... The world of piracy will never stop as long as they don't ever stop feeding us stuff to hack... I love the challenges even at my level of PCing...which is not nearly as well as it should be..for all the years I have sat on endless hours soaking up different ventures computing... All in all... it has been fun... Everyone of us has our limits to how piracy can be carried... to me a hacker is alot more dangerous than a pirate.. Because a hacker can also have the pirate in him and be totally dangerous... Think about how many times you see pirates hack software and then put something in the installer that some n00b doesn't catch with their crappy security apps? Those are the ones to watch out for... they give us the "bad name... and the crazy thing is alot of the software companies release their own "pirated" version with a virus to lure the n00bs in to leer them away from piracy... Hey that keeps me coming... I like a challenge.... even if the end result becomes something like a "VirusMonde" that keeps coming back... forcing a reformat of the system... I have been there myself... I don't think there has been a pirate that hasn't experienced that one a time or 2... we learn... the challenge is there... I love being a damned pirate with a little hacking skills.. I do nothing harmful to anyones system but my own if I fuck it up... I fuck it up... It keeps this mind occupied.

It costs money to go buy CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-DL, and especially all the hard drives. I wonder why we pirate than ... LOL.

I think of it this way. If they suddenly want to start cracking down on piracy, there are plenty of people that they would go after before us. There are people downloading and hosting files everyday for us to download. They'll go after people like that before they go after us.

And if they ever run out, that's when they'll go after easy targets such as those who post the amount of games, etc they've pirated on open forums that are cached daily.

here, torrents are throttled like damn. That's why I hardly torrent games.

Any way to block ISP from throttling? I'm begining to hate streamyx.

I've been caught pirating on torrents also.
If you live in the U.S and your ISP is Cox Communications, then watch out because they are issuing new rules and hunting down pirates.

where did you hear this? i heard cox might be starting to throttle torrents, but its probably best to avoid them especially since it seems the esa is watching for pirated wii games. not all isps are as lax as cox about infractions (but they should be). i think you might get your connection cut off (possibly temporarily) if you get 3 infractions in six months, could be wrong though.

besides everyone knows jdownloader+rapidshare/megaupload files is the safest way to download large backups if you don't have wifi for manually creating backups.

well, part of "doing it right" is using a different username for incriminating posts =P

anyway, yeah it costs a significant amount of money, but hard drives are actually pretty cheap.

in the old days i would archive everything to disc, but i eventually found it both easier and cheaper to just keep a giant array of hard drives around.
the 1.5 TB drive i just bought for example carries those 1300 movies and cost me $130
1300 movies for $130? yeah that's 10c/movie. not a bad investment if you ask me.


I'm college age and I pretty much run my computer as an entertainment server for whoever my roommates are at the time and people seem to like it.
no regrets here.
