Yeh, and then when they stop providing support, you have to find a way to reprogram it

My Wlip has also arrived, though my damn RS232 cable isn't here. What the hell!? So, I won't get around to installing the Wlip tonight either, but I can snap some pictures of it if anyone's interested.

You can also plug the programmer directly in your computers serial port. But it might be a very tight fit if there are other cables next to it.

No you can't. The serial port and the port on the programmer are both female, so I need my USB-RS232 male cord to come in before I can connect.

when did you guys get your conformation email? cause i haven't gotten one yet saying its been shipped and it said in an email i got friday that it won't ship till monday i was wondering if it shipped yet ...... man so excited

I've got my Wlip here. It doesn't look like it did on the internet... it's got a clear blue or black clip instead of white. No idea if it works yet, but it looks neat. I'll snap some pictures later.

I need some good opinions - I know that there is constant debate over which modchip is the best, etc etc - I already have a Wiikey that's waiting to be installed, but with the Wlip, I'll have to solder onto it, etc. I'm thinking of ordering a Wiinja Deluxe instead as it'll be simple to pull out and replace the Wiinja Deluxe if need be someday instead of having to buy a new Wlip.

Now that makes sense there.. but, as for modchips and comparing the two, which one is more ideal? I know that the Wiinja site is still up and all is well there and with Wiikey, the site has been down for quite some time. Should I just abandon ship and go ahead with the Wiinja? Thanks to those who reply!

the only bad thing about the wiinja is that its sold on one site cause that seems to be the only site with them right now heh but i'm debating to get it or just get a yaosm. i like the wiinja cause it is DVD upgradable. and you need a programmer for yaosm.

Wiikey they are saying that they are still alive for updates but they took the site down because of hackers... not sure how true this is.

so i am still unsure of which to get Yaosm or wiinja.

DreXX

Here are a couple of quick pictures I took of the Wlip. I didn't get around to opening my Wii like I'd hoped tonight. I'll try to give it a shot tomorrow.

is that gooey stuff some sort of cooling gel or are you intending on gluing it to the drivechip?

It looks as though it's just a protective covering until you install it... I dunno..

As for my previous post not knowing which mod to get - I can get it for about $40 Canadian sent to me.. is this good? (Wiinja Deluxe)

buy a programmer and a PIC 12f683 and just program the dumped wiinja hex file onto it using ic prog
