Howdy!
I’ve been trying to find a way to connect my Wii U Pro Controller to the Wii for YEARS with no luck, so I thought I might look for another controller instead.
Does anyone know if there exists a wireless controller (that doesn’t need to connect to a wiimote and won’t require a bluetooth dongle) that can play Wii games and doesn’t require batteries?
Kind of a tall order but still remaining hopeful!

There is no wireless controller that does not require the dongle and even less that serves for Wii games, you only have two options get the original classic or classic pro for the Wii or use Dolphin and use your Wii U controller.

For years people have been asking for that but I haven't seen any projects about it, I imagine it's because it's not possible.

I promise they’re not sponsoring me to advertise this, it’s just the only product that fits this very specific niche : p. There is the confusingly-named Interworks Controller Pro U - see the review where my avatar cat models it: https://www.destructoid.com/review-pro-controller-u/amp/#. It’s not great quality, but meets your requirements. It looks like a Wii U Pro controller that has eaten a SNES controller.

It has a mode switch to change between acting as a Classic Controller and sideways Wiimote (which actually works really well for games that use both the IR pointer and replica NES controller mode such as Wario Land: Shake Dimension, Super Paper Mario and Metroid Other M). I have replaced the sharp-cornered d-pad with one from an N64 controller.

Beware, there is a nearly-identical-looking controller (even down to the non-functioning IR window) that is a bootleg Wii *U* Pro Controller, which, as you have noticed, won’t work with a Wii. You can tell them apart because the Wii U one doesn’t have the mode switch.

Other than emcintosh says,

There's way to pair your dual shock 3/4, but in certain homebrews only...

For wii games, don't (yet).

For gamecube games on nintendont, I think wii U pro controller support already works.

For wiiU, there's a homebrew named bloopair doing a very well job.

Other than emcintosh says, and almmiron,

there is a very cheap and easy to make adapter, Ardruino ESP32, which by means of cable welds you can make a "GameCube2Bluetooth" Controller, with the advantages that this entails; freedom of controllers, any modern controller that you already have at home, and all gamecube games on wii, compatible emulators manw, even classic games (wiware and virtual console), that are compatible with gamecube controller (99%) and also wii titles that have only compatibility with gamecube controller (quite a few but not all)
use "List_of_games_that_use_the_GC_Controller"

I think it's worth making this mod, and thank its creator darthcloud

P.D. forgive my translation, I am a Spanish user, and I use translator

This is the Wii section though, and he's asking about replacing Wiimote only. So the answer is just no.

hello Jayinem

I think the answer is yes. there is also [hombrew]fakemote that emulates the wiimote and nunchuck controls, or classic pro control using hombrew software. But it only uses USB

the gamecube controller port is part of the nintendo wii, the question is simple; wireless controller for wii console, that says the title, and that it is not wiimote obviously, because it is a solution that replaces it, right?

I'm not talking about other consoles, but the ngc port, then? there are certainly games that can use this gamecube controller to play natively, and it would be nice to say what options you have to play.

postscript: I am not a writer, they do not let me put links, but I read a lot in this forum, I also use a translator, I hope I am understood
