Hello, I plan on modding my Wii U. My gamepad can't really hold a charge and my off brand wireless pro controller is in disrepair. I do have a wired switch controller that works really well, and I was wondering if there is any way to use my wired switch controller with my Wii U. Thanks for the help.

Aside from using something like HID to VPAD, the answer is no.

My controller wasn't showing up, and I saw the HID to VPAD post saying that if this is the case, I need a "valid configuration on my sd card". How can I get this? By the way, I'm using a Faceoff wired controller by pdp, officially sold with the nintendo brand.

Try switchpro.ini from https://github.com/Maschell/controller_patcher_configs (there are install instructions in the README).

If that doesn't work look if another config on that github site matches and if not have a look at https://github.com/Maschell/controller_patcher/wiki/5.d-Controller-|-Adding-new-devices and https://github.com/Maschell/control...troller-|-Configurate-a-Switch-Pro-Controller (maybe you just need to adjust VID and PID of the switchpro.ini ;))
