Hi, I'm discovering the joys of owning a Wii in the year of 2026. Better late than never. Been playing the NTSC Virtual Console version of Star Fox 64 a bunch, and there's this annoying audio distortion that's hard to ignore throughout the game, like the audio is crackling. It's most noticable in the end credits. This video I found on youtube shows it off as well, so I know the issue isn't just on my end: (45:56 in case the timestamp doesn't work) I was surprised how nobody online seems to have discussed this over the years. Has anyone else noticed this or similar issues on other n64 VC releases? Is the cause known? Out of curiosity, I did try the PAL Lylat Wars release, and the audio was perfectly fine in that one.

Hacking 'Wipe' and start over

Morning

I have a Wii with wiikey running 1.9s and sterted having problems with discs not showing in the disc channel after a stupid update ages back.

Downgraded back to 3.1 and installed HBC etc and using backup loader and gecko os was able to boot anything that would not show up in the disc channel.

Now the problems start I tried installing one of the wad channels for the loader (from EoC) and now many wont boot from the disc channel that did before, hardly any boot from the loader giving error 324, or no cios installed.

So the question, is there a way to start from fresh, wipe it all as if it never had HBC or a loader on at all? I though upgrading to 3.4 then back would work but thats not helped.

Hope you guys can help
