the best would be to support .cia . 3dsx and .3ds so no one is debating about wich is the better

I'm hoping for a homebrew launcher installed on sysnand able to launch .3dsx, installed cia's, and which can also install .cia.
That would great.

From just comparing the formats, 3dsx is way better suited; but yes I agree on you myself prefer to just launch from the homemenu.

Um no.. the 3dsx format is meant to be used for homebrew and such, not to drive the whole gaming community into the ground (aka pirating).
Go somewhere you belong, The OSKA devs will not enable piracy, sure it will be open source; but I highly doubt anyone will bother to make a "backup".. eh screw it nobody "backup" games.. "A piracy enabler". Even if they do expect a buggy leaking ship that no man can sail on the seven seas, yaaa'ar!

I can't believe I'm going to justify this with a response, but here I go anyways....for a portable system, its a heck of a lot more convenient to actually be able to drag your collection of games around on say a single SD card than to have to haul all your games around (personally, I've got around 20 of them). I've sank a good let's call it 40 hours or so dumping all my carts and converting to .CIA to be able to run them off cfw. Thus far its working just fine (all older games, so compatibility isn't really a huge issue). To say that no one uses backup loaders legitimately is an outright lie.

As Relys said HERE "Guys the argument of being able to "backup your carts" honestly died last generation. If you want all your games stored on your SD card then buy them from the eshop." your argument is invalid.

I'm not too keen on rebuying my whole physical collection on Nintendo's shaky account system. Not only that, but the digital store is much more expensive most of the time.

I have quite a few games on the eshop, but my physical games are simply better imo. I also get a legitimate feeling of a purchase when I buy it physically.

So that is just a crazy argument imo. I don't wanna carry around my 15 carts everywhere.

I might be alone on this, but I really like physical carts. The main reason I bought this console is nostalgia from when I was very young. Having the boxes on my shelf lined up with every game for every other console I have helps me value them a lot more than just downloading them, wherever it might be from. I have a gateway now though, not gonna lie, I will download games I haven't bought. Games are expensive where I live, so I end up buying the ones I can proudly put on my shelf. MH4U and PKMN:AS are games I bought after I got my gateway. It's not like every game downloaded by pirates is a loss in sales, when I try them out and like them they end up in my collection. Having them in some Eshop does nothing for me personally, the only digital platform I use is steam, and only because PC releases on discs are almost extinct, and it's my main platform so 200+ discs for each game I have would be overkill. The only people I know who pirate without buying anything are young kids who only go to school and are to young to work on the side. Not really that much loss in sales there either as they have no income.

I second the argument in favor of actual backups. I softmodded my wii because i have about 50-60 games, and really switching them around is troublesome.
Btw, there should really be support for the three file types.

Honestly I respect you a lot as a dev but you know that Nintendo has no system to let you redownload your eshop content if yoy system is stolen, broken, lost. You are right its not a debate about piracy but every dev can't honestly forget how jacked up Nintendo's policy is when it comes to digital. At least my ps3,Xbox 360,android,iOS, any tech that isn't last gen quality has a way for me to get my items back. You may not like CIA but when I tried to connect with my legit emunand I bought a theme, after connecting to play a cart online my theme got deleted and now it just gives me a purchase option. I don't see this as OK or right on nintendos part. Again this isn't a debate about piracy but Nintendo's policy on digital downloads.

phew....so karl and oska both wont enable CIA feature? alright then so be it. now then wheres govanify my only hope
OSKA never intended to enable Piracy. They only difference is that it is completely open source, unlike KARL which has some closed source code. So it would be easier to code a ROM loader.
