Once this has a UI and everything (the OP mentions adding one) could it serve as a replacement for NTR CFW, only (finally) open source? Like would it support plugins and stuff? If not, what would the UI do?

The 3DS already has a UI, why would it need a new one?

Do you mean something like the menu that pops up when you press select on the homescreen of a PSP?

Yeah and that can lead you to even more advanced option like nand/emunand/cardridge dump ;clock speed and others
and if by the way we have the ability to add plugins that can be run with combinason of touch in games
that would be cool ex:screenshot cheat, engine like, ram dump ect....

Wi-Fi video streaming to a PC (might be possible in O3DS games by utilizing the extra speed of the additional N3DS cores).
Wi-Fi input streaming (so, basically a 3DS controller plugin that also runs when you have a game running)
Slow-motion in games
Rewinds
Savegames

You name it. :D

Don't want rom loader just want a cia installer

Unfortunately this is where the issue is, in oder to support .CIA format (even for homebrew) they would have to allow pirate games to be ran. To some extent, this is holding back the homebrew community (as its effectively blocking some homebrew that was released in that format) to some extent I have a hard time faulting them for directly supporting it (although being able to fire up a cfw and have direct access to your homebrew straight from the menu would certainly be convenient).

But OSKA is nor for piracy nor against so if they include a cia installer sure that would allow piracy but that would not be the point
the point is to install homebrews in emunand home menu so cause OSKA is neutral who care if it allow piracy ?
the responsable is not oska dev but the customer for what he do with is hardware and even if oska don't allow piracy due to it's oppen source others dev will add it so...
i think they should just don't care

^
I've seen those same posta a ton on this thread alone, why do you guys love talking about the same stuff all the time?

I think they shouldn't patch the signature checks and homebrew should come in 3dsx format only in the future and all will be fine :)

Nothing quite like intentionally crippling something which has an end goal (at least so I thought) of opening up the system completely by supporting only one of the 3 types of homebrew that exist out in the wild already, eh?

But if it were cia to be supported and 3dsx to be left out, that would be totally fine, I guess...

Watch out, a wild Sarcasm appeared.

love the work man, you are a really awesome programmer, what i see in oska is running unsigned code in the 3ds/n3ds so even big red menu will do the work we need, love it indeed

The cia installer, a legal one is available, we only need to be able to run unsigned content and install it, when the time comes that's the work to be done, karl devs are using it too and everything the only issue is that you cannot install unsigned cias in their cfw, preventing piracy and other things like savedatafiler and other cia homebrew, i respect their aproach but for what i want it is to run savedatafiler in "classic mode" thats what i really want, i do own a gateway so piracy is being covered by them

I have enough knowledge to reverse and write codes. I can say what is wrong in the code and how to fix.

But you should also know that I have no knowledge about hardware.
Reversing codes takes so long; I'm convinced that the further development can't be done without debugger.
