A bit offtopic, but there's no way to return to home menu or settings after running ninjhax and bootstrap (arm11), right?

Yes and no, I'd imagine it would be possible if we had the proper AM handle, but iirc smea mentioned that he had to kill off the home menu to get something working. Although cell9 seems to have found a way to start it back up again.

I know it's established that you can switch Gateway's emunand format to KARL's emunand format, so I got a question. Can you switch between the two formats or can you only switch to the KARL format. I ask this as I want to use the KARL format for the Homebrew Launcher with extra properties/ Eshop if you support it as said above as a PoC. But I want to switch to Gateway for time to time since some of my CIA's are unsigned due to FunkyCIA not generated legit CIA's for dumped Eshop games.

You can switch back and forth, it's just annoying to do so.

Excuse me if I'm intruding, karl3ds works on binary files, or working on a reduced emunand ?!

It's just a matter of where you store the first sector of the eMMC. GW stores it at some dumb distant sector that wastes a bunch of space. We store ours at 0x26C001, which saves a bunch of space. We may change our emunand layout in the future for technical reasons, though. It'd still be GW-compatible in that case. Whenever someone mentions 'emunand format', it's just storing the exact same data in different ways.

Nice to know, as I want to buy The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth when it comes out on the New 3DS for the eshop. By the way, is the Homebrew Launcher thing going to be open as a CIA or exclusive to KARL3DS?

The way we plan on doing homebrew may end up being 'KARL'-exclusive. Ideally we'll reimplement the HB service on a system level. How we do that will determine if it's Gateway-compatible or not. Honestly, we've been too busy with other groundwork'y things to think about it much. We'll tell as soon as we know for sure.

Ok, very kind, I've taken a curiosity.

RomFS redirection.
that would of been great when i was testing all the unknown items for NSMB2, was a pain rebuilding each time, although it was pretty much automated to 1 click, but still would of been good to be able to edit it and test it straight away

but i guess this means rom hacks for Karl3DS then without the need for flashcards

i want to buy xenoblade but im already on 9.0 and dont want to update to 9.4, also i have cubic ninja
my question is: will karl3ds let me play in it? i didnt read whole topic and i dont know if you treat it like piracy or not?
