Starting last night sometime I couldn't log into messenger and I just thought the whole service was down like it does someimes.
But on my sisters pc she could get on fine.
When I click repair on the message it says my browser cannot connect to the internet... Except I'm online typing this now lol

Any solutions?

The latest version is 8.5.1302 but there is version 9 out in beta which is looking very, very nice.

Go here for different versions of msn messenger

when u have uninstalled messenger, go to the place where u previously installed it and see if there are any files/folders related to it, if there are kill them all!!

You have to delete something, something from your temp cache that's causing MSN to not work. Delete everything in your temporary internet files folder or the files in your temp folder on your local settings and it should work. Happened to me, pretty sure it's something in either those two folders that's causing a confliction.

EDIT: MSN, or Windows Live, whatever it's called. I'm still using MSN 7.5 (tweaked to work with XP) so I still refer to it as MSN.

Still didn't work :/
I just downloaded and installed pidgin and that works.. I think I'll just use this lol can't be bothered to try and fix live messenger.

Did you take on board what I said or did you only do Trolly's suggestion? I'll repeat again, it's most likely a confliction in your temp folders, clear them and MSN will be fine.

DarkRey, even I wouldn't go as far as formating the entire drive for just one minor problem.
