I have been wondering this to myself for some time, but never found the time to seek an answer. Today is the day! Will the Wii work with one of those projector things that you point at a blank wall? Because that would be great for a big screen alternative for an excellent Wii experience. Any feedback would be much appreciated!

i'm not sure if the sensory bar would be efficient for a super big thing like that but in theory it would work since it's just a bar with detectors you stick in front of the screen

...well i could be completely wrong here, just my speculation

It will, every kind of screen will be supported, the Wii use the sensor bar and not the to get the info it needs

First you have an IR (infrared) technology at the front of the controller and in the sensor bar that detects where you are pointing it (PHOTO PROOF: IR LED's can be seen with a digital camera, but not seen by the naked eye). Like a remote control for your TV, so long as it is within range of the reader, it can tell where about you are pointing it on the screen. But if you get too far from the sensor bar (or too close with the Wiimote not aimed at the sensorbar), it will lose the signal completely. (For you projector owners out there like myself, this means that you may need to mount the reader bar in the center of your screen or on a table in the middle of the room to play it.) The Bluetooth sends what is read between the Wii controller and the sensor bar.

Sweet. That could end up being a good investment then. They're cheaper than a big wide-screen lcd or plasma right?

Blech. That is unfortunate. I guess my wallet is going to be emptier that i had hoped Wii weekend. Thankfully my birthday is November 18th (the day before Wii launch!) which should add some extra weight to my wallet!
