Hardware Will this Western Digital hard drive work?

I've just recently bought a Western Digital Passport WDXMS2500TN External Hard Drive. I just want to make totally sure that this will work? I posted a topic months ago about newer games not running well with disc backup. I'm new to using an external hard drive for backups. I'm hearing about the hard drives going into sleep mode causing games to freeze. Just want to make sure this was the right purchase.

Yes, Western Digitals Passports work.

Well try it out and find out. I'm pretty sure you can use a program called "hdparm" to stop it from sleeping.
