Gaming Will the PS3 win from Wii?

Really though I'm about through arguing and you some of you guys should be too. I can't convince you the PS3 = The Greatest console ever since it's not but it's at least 3rd. I'd say it goes like this PS2 > 360 > PS3 > Wii > Everything else. Yes the PS2 is better than the current next gen because of the millions it sold and because of the thousands of games. And you can't convince me the Wii or 360 is that much better than a PS3 or better at all.

The way I see it.. Sony is making the same mistake Nintendo has made with the N64 in the past.. "We are the market leaders, so people will buy whatever we make and won't mind the price.. and all the developers will continue by our side!"

The PS3 has the best hardware of the 3 consoles, can't deny that.. but the N64 also had a hardware a hundred times better than the PSX! And it still "lost the battle".. something very similar is going on with the PS3 and the Wii.. history repeats itself..

Well, it's not so much about the amount as it is what we're used to. Some people will pay $3000 for a gaming PC, but will become offended by the price of the PS3, it's all perception.

And while we've been on-topic to some degree this entire time, lets get back on the more immediate track. PS3, can it overtake the Wii? I think several things need to come together for that to happen: the Wii would need to have a dry spell (and since there are very few things scheduled for mid-late 2008, that could very well happen). The PS3's current price point would also have to turned heads, encroaching on on the Wii's territory, which is another possible scenario. But the real defining moment would be the PS3 getting a slew of good games all at once. And as of now, that seems to be the least likely. It has a few on the way, but they all seem to be spread out.



I see what your saying...The PS3 might pass the Wii and 360 in Japan/Europe but not in the US for a long time..... Still the PS3 is dominating 2 regions not bad

The Wii is still quite hard to find here in Europe because of the massive sales figures, and thats just based on hype. When the big games come around, there will be no stopping Nintendo and Sony will be begging for mercy.

Lol I'm sorry but that is ridiculous. Your post is Nintendo Fanboyism at best. You also seem to imply like the Wii will be getting all the games while the PS3 has nothing. ATM the PS3 has a lot more games available than the Wii and that is fact. Anybody disagrees is being a fanboy. The 360 has much more games than both the Wii and PS3 though.

The Wii has a great line-up of games. EG. Super Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, NiGHTS, Mario Kart Wii, Zack & Wiki etc... And the list is just going to get longer and longer. I am in no way a fanboy, but I do know that the Wii is just going to get stronger and stronger.

The Xbox 360 is another great console. Has a large list of games.

I still think that the PS3 is lagging behind, we'll just have to wait and see what happens and see if Sony can get their act together.

Now you see, that's a point worth making. And one that everyone in the console market should take note of. The market doesn't bow down to the current market leader just because they say so. If you get too cocky, it can ruin you. It happened to Nintendo (and it took them 2 generations to recover), and now it's happening to Sony. CockroachMan has some very insightful views. Plus, if a nuclear holocaust occurs, he'll outlive us all.

I like the PS3. I just think it's too expensive for me at the moment and nothing you say can change that. I don't care about the hardware inside the console or how much it costs. It's all about the games and how affordable the package is overall

yes! I agree! I hope they all win so they will always have to compete against each other so we will always get better games and hardware.

Just this week I am really wanting a ps3 for that card game thing that came out for it
