Hacking Will system updates affect hardmod?

I wanna connect the Wi-Fi but am wondering if a system update will affect my hardmod? I have the D2Pro chip. I haven't done any softmod.
I have 4.1E now, because I've had wi-fi connected before.
So, if I do system updates, will I still be able to play my backup games like usual?

Region Free will be lost, but you can add it back with priiloader/ preloader hacks etc.

But I guess the wii won't update itself? So I don't have to update just because I have Internet connected.

Exactly the choice is yours.

Maybe there are other things affected, but I don't know of any.

One of mines hardmodded and it stays online. It wont update unless you click yes. It wont hurt but you will lose region free and I would stay on 4.1 unless you are going to softmod.
I have one that I took to 4.2 with softmod and usbloading and its way better than the other one.....I really see no reason for a hardmod anymore.

You won't lose region free on 4.2 unless you skip installing Priiloader or Startpatch.
