Hacking Will hot glue damage the ribbon cable?

I broke the clips and everything on my ribbon cables, it still works fine when i line it all up and tape it, but when the tape sits it comes loose and then i get errors

i wanna fix it permanently, i was thinking of taping it, once i find out it works and is lined up hot glue the tape holding it down?

I dont know tho, i just dont wanna hot glue it and have it come lose andnot be able to get to it....

any ideas?

Hot glue should be fine. There are low-temp hot glue guns, if you're that worried.

is it possible/hard to "unhotglue" something once its done?

im just afraid glue could get between the connection points on the ribbon and the board itself and give me errors, i dont wanna glue something down wrong and not be able to fix it.

Youd need to reheat it... like solder, but more messy.

Hot-glue is typically non-conductive.
