Hacking Will blocking updates with DNS allow me to play online?

So I just installed ColdBoothax already . Does that mean that when there is a Wii U update I could update as it automatically boots into homebrew, or fw.img or custom firmware?

So I used the DNS from loadiine.ova site. I used the LA DNS as primary and the DNS-U as secondary. Then I did a connection test and it was successful. I am guessing that I blocked updates?
