Hacking Will a systemtransfered Four Swords work for DSiWareHax?

Hello,

i just got a N3DS on 11.0 and now want to Hombrew this beauty. My o3DS already has A9LH. Now i want to use Waithax on my N3DS and a friend of mine mentioned that he has Four Swords on his DSi and that we maybe just system transfer his DSi onto my N3DS to use Waithax.

Is this going to work?

Yes but after that when you'll try to downgrade with SysDowgrader you may end on a softbrick (cause consoles which have done systransfer or have dsiware titles softbrick sometimes during this process, but it's recoverable don't worry but you'll have to update to 11.2, but if you have your dsiware injected you can do the process again it will work), so here's my advice, considering my experience of many softbricks : Do the waithax, inject your dsiware, then use DgTool to do a Nfirm backup AND a NAND backup, then do the Nfrim downgrade, try to downgrade to 9.2 with SysDowngrader, if it fails update to 11.2, redo all these steps BUT before downgrading format with TinyFormat, cause it will format everything execpt the sd data AND dsiware titles, allowing you to redo the process if needed, then do the a9lh install and when you're done, restore your NAND backup and you'll end with all your data + a9lh installed and this way you'll already have a backup of your NAND ready if ever you have a problem

That will work. You can also transfer it to the o3DS and set up dsiwarehax before transferring to the n3DS. Either way will work but waithax might be easier.

You can't restore the NAND backup from one system into another. That will brick for sure (if your NAND backup contains a .sha file as well, Hourglass9 will tell you that the NAND backup is not from that console and you can't install it).

no. NANDs are not interchangeable between different systems.
I plan on doing system transfer and dsiwarehax the same way. but I hold on until CCC. maybe there is something even better in the pipeline.

remember that your friends gives you his NNID and cannot use it on his N3DS after that anymore.

The NAND backup is only 1-2GB. If you're talking about the SD card data, then you have to do a system transfer to move it. SD card data is encrypted per console so you can't just put it in another console. The system transfer is needed to change the encryption. You can manually change the encryption by doing things with moveable.sed but I don't know the details.

You should perform a system transfer from the o3DS to the n3DS once you've hacked the n3DS, it will transfer most of your stuff, you may have to reinstall some of your CIAs though, not sure.

He's transferring from a DSi, which doesn't use NNIDs.

you can system transfer and then download the game from eshop to your n3ds. you do not even have to use your friends SD card for that. the modded save file should be placed on your SD for sure.

If you are transferring, why use waithax at all? Inject the save on the source console before transferring. https://3ds.guide/dsiware-downgrade-(save-injection-and-second-3ds) (e: Oh, transferring from a DSi.)

That said, running ctr-httpwn from homebrew and then exiting homebrew without restarting will allow you to transfer without updating.

Okay okay, i downgraded my NFIRM and tried to downgrade to 9.2 - But it crashed and i cant access the Homebrew Launcher now
Any ideas?
