wiiware

wiiware should be in a wad file - use a wad manager homebrew app to install them.
There are a number of wad managers available, and if you ask you may get 5 or 6 different answers as to which one is 'best'
I use this one:

...but have a read of the forums and make up your own mind

best option imo is to create an emunand with usb loader gx, then put it in custom folders. after that, install wads directly into it. both the emunand and wad injector things are under features iirc. you can even put all your wads in a folder and install the folder of wads to mass install at no risk.

dont know what emunand is or iiirc ? and best option imo < ??
on my sd card there is a wad folder do i put all the wad games in there and load them via usb loader ?

you can have them in the wad folder, yes. emunand is an emulated nand, so it's basically your system's files without having to use your system's files. it's safer I guess is the main thing, plus there's unlimited space.

you're very limited on the wii. I think the wii's nand is only 528MBs. if you patch I think ios 80, you can load them from an sd card, but the games seem to be transferred to system memory before they load, so it takes a bit to boot a game. you're also limited to about 20 pages there, which is probably enough unless you want like everything. lol

I use Wad Manager.

I'd like to strongly encourage you to follow godreborn's suggestion.

But if you're like me, then just install PriiLoader and set "REGION FREE EVERYTHING" to install any wad you might want.
There's a couple Japanese exclusive WiiWare/Virtual Console games that are worth it.

My Wii is NTSC, and I only have installed WiiWare and Virtual Console that I actually play. So, a 16GB SD is enough for me... even with emulators and 3000+ roms.

I still have 5GB free on my "Retrogaming" SD card 🥴
