This game is made by Wii homebrew developer Uffe Flarup. You can play a naturally inferior free homebrew version called Kids Paint here. It's too bad that scene groups doesn't respect young developers.

what features or options are included here that aren't in the homebrew edition?
my 3yr old loved baby mode and now uses the simple mode - like a boss! LOL

its pretty cute to see him make drawings of his younger brother, the neighbors dog, etc...
so if this keeps him busy for hours on end, why should i bother with the wiiware version?

anyone know what the differences are?

Well, from the wiibrew page:

Paint Splash will contain better graphics, better usability and more features than Kidspaint. There will still be Baby mode for the small kids, and Full mode for kids who are old enough to use the painting tools menu. 4 player support are of course available in both modes, so the entire family can enjoy painting together. SD card save functionality is also still available in the official WiiWare version, so your painting can be transferred to your computer afterwards.

US release date: September 8, 2011.

EU release date: To be announced.
