Hardware Wiimote

With the advent of drivers for the wiimote on all 3 major operating systems, what software/homebrew can come out of this?


my list:
Uber joystick
Emulation heaven
mouse for those who cant use a mouse
wireless mouse
new games centered around it

force feedback has already been implemented, so only a matter of time until someone finds how to control motor intensity, then pulsing it shouldn't be too hard, need I say more?

There are far better things for that use than a Wiimote. I don't want my Wiimote getting all gooey anyway.

There wont be new games centered around it. Thats what the Wii console is for. Games that are centered around it will be homebrew.

@Hooya, wii glove. and @seja, whats better (to cheap people), a $250 wii, or a $30ish wiimote to play games on pc centered around it. Obviously to me a wii which i enjoy, but how long before wii sports clones?

btw, force feedback is not the same as rumble (which is what I think you meant). Force feedback implies that the device creates a force that opposes the one you are doing.

I'm just saying that there isn't going to be any specific games created by, say, Ubi-Soft for the PC that use a Wii remote. The driver is homebrew, and plus they would probably get sued by Nintendo.

I doubt they can be sued. There was no reverse engineering involved. Why should the developers be to blame that the wiimote's bluetooth connection responds to seemingly "random" data

Then again, in this day and age, anything is a reason for a lawsuit.

ok, first of all, it is called force feedback, and second of all, its a damn wiimote. get used to it.
