They don't hold their charge very well. After a few uses, or if you don't use them for awhile, they refuse to recharge or have little capacity. I find myself with dead NiMH batteries before I have company over again. Plus, you have to take the sleeves off to replace them.
I've been using NiMH Energizers in my Wii remotes and 360 controller for years and never had any problem beyond having to recharge them before using them if they hadn't been charged in a while (like over a month). Once charged, they work as well an any double A.
