I have a USA Wii w/ Wiikey v1 that was accidentally updated to 4.0U by my brother.

Today, I followed the ModWii sticky in order to update it to 4.1U with full softmods for HBC, USB loading, etc...followed everything to the T including installing bootmii to boot2.

The problem is that discs will fail to load from the Disc Channel now. It gives me "Unable to read the disc" error for all discs. Loading them from NeoGamma works fine still.

Here's a copy of my sysCheck:

Code:
sysCheck v2.0 by Double_A
...runs on IOS58 (rev 6176).

Region: NTSC-U
System Menu 4.1 (v449)
Hollywood v0x11
Console ID: 68671998
Boot2 v2

Found 137 titles.
Found 42 IOS on this console. 0 of them are stub.

Any ideas how to restore loading the game from the Disc Channel? I have quite a few backups and want to be able to load them from the disc, not just from the USB drive.

Thanks.

Try updating to Wiikey v1.99 BETA. It might also be worth pointing out that the region free offered through the Wiikey no longer works with 4.1. If you are trying to play games that belong to a region not your own, you must install Priiloader first in order to be able to play them through the disc channel.

It works in 4.1 not in 4.2..

also

BC v2
MIOS v4

should be:

BC v6
MIOS v10

Yes, I've install Priiloader and set Region Free to EVERYTHING as well as a few other "hacks". Thanks!

BC and MIOS only control Gamecube loading, correct? I'll update mine to v6 and v10, respectively and try to update Wiikey to 1.99b. I've been having problems getting the update disc to load for the Wiikey.

Shouldn't my Wii backup discs still load despite the outdated BC and MIOS versions?

No difference after updating. Wiikey still won't load discs from the Disc Channel and I still can't install Wiikey 1.99b since the update disc won't load, not even from NeoGamma. Turns the screen green.

I have almost the same setup and my works without issues.

Are you sure it likes your DVD-R media?

I use Verbatim DVD-R....I have over 60 backups that used to load just fine.

All the games used to work about a year ago. Then the Wii was put in storage. When it was dug out two weeks ago was when it was accidentally updated to 4.0U. That's when it stopped loading backups. Retail discs load fine still.

I'm at wit's end with this!
