And no problem what so ever.... You guys doing a great job!!!

I´m a little sad since we can´t make our own comp of new revs anymore. But I totaly understand why you change the releases of the source after what happen earlier this week...

Well the decision for that is not only for the issue with hackwiiflow, which xabby666 has apologized to r-win and I about and has taken the thread down until he can bring it back in a legal form. It is also because when whomever wants to compile the app can, there can never be a release since its already in the wild. Not only that we get too many comments and pressure about bugs form unfinished code. Making the svn unavailable to the general public lets r-win and I code in a relaxed environment.

Why can't you just not accept any bug reports except from designated beta testers? You don't have to listen or read about problems from the other riffraff. I liked compiling my own releases and trying out the "lastest" alphas/betas knowing full well that there may be bugs. I just won't bother reporting bugs and you never have to listen but just ignore me if I try to report a bug. If you don't listen or read unauthorized bug reports then you and r-win can code in peace but the rest of us can have some fun compiling and trying out the latest.

Exactly the point i was making about not being able to make a proper release.
There are many reasons we came to the decision to hold back source code until full releases.

Here is my issue with people compiling it themselves all of the time:

r-win and I spend countless of free hours busting our balls to make the release be a big hit when we finally release it. So imagine you worked a combined 500 (example, its actually more) hours to make a great release, busted your ass, and the only pay you get is the satisfaction of that release. Now everyone can have that release before it is ready, and can do what they wish with it. When the release hits it is not a big deal to anyone because they already had it, since they compiled it themselves the whole way, noticing the improvements gradually. This way the only thing the developer gets is the relief of getting the release out, but not the satisfaction that it was a big hit.

Now lets consider the contrary, where the in between revs are NOT available to everyone.
We have our small team of beta testers who can see the gradual changes, and help us find the bugs. We still work the same amount on the next release BUT, when the release comes out it makes a big hit because everyone was anticipating it so much, and the improvements and changes seem much greater to them because they did not see it all coming gradually like in the previous case. In this sense the developer gets the relief of getting the release out finally, AND the satisfaction that everyone makes such a great deal out of how great the release is, since they see all the changes at once and it seems so different.

Let use have our satisfaction. Let our releases be the huge deal that they are, to better match our efforts we developers exert in order to make these applications great. Everyone needs to stop complaining about it. Its kinda like everyone is being very selfish now about them not being able to leech now that its put this way right?

I myself have enjoyed all the benefits of being able to compile it myself and will sorely miss it. I fully understand and support the reasons why you have now chosen to wait to make releases. I also think the project may be at a good place in the development for that to happen, meaning most users should be able to do just about anything they want with it (thanks again!). I look forward to anything you guys come up with in the future, and know that you have changed forever the way many of us use our wii's.

BTW, I'm thinking about making my own usb loader, but I'm having trouble removing the credits page. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i think this was mentioned a while back and i did some searching and reading on wiiflow's faq but couldn't find an answer.

i love love love how simple it is to use cheats in games with the latest ver of wiiflow. amazingly simple but...... let's say that the cheat code it downloads is corrupt and gets fixed 2 days later or you want to simply delete a code you downloaded yesterday for a game and grab the latest one to be sure you have the most current....... how can you easily (from within wiiflow is possible) delete a previsouly downloaded cheat file? when clicking on "cheats" for the game, it would be nice to have a window pop-up asking you if you want to download a fresh copy, overwriting the existing one.

added to the faq on the wiki

quoteq. how can i delete / re-download an ocarina cheat file from within wiiflow?
a. go to the cheats selection screen and press 1 + 2 at the same time to delete the current cheat file.

well that's pretty depressing news.... i actually just started seriously looking at this loader to be the one i help my friends get going. one of the main reasons i did that was transparency with the source code, being able to look at the code and compile it yourself is a big benefit to me.

too bad you chose this route for your previously open source project. perhaps you'll reconsider this path in the future when things quiet down. or even releasing the milestone source code after you have your release out in the wild for a week or so would be nice.

also, might want to consider changing the topic of this thread as the "open source" part is a little misleading now.

its still open source, miigotu/r-win have already said the code will be released but will be delayed by one version.

if you don't like what the dev team are doing, then take your self and your sarcasm off to another usb loader thread. however i'm sure you're already well aware that this is by far the best usb loader around, and moving to another will no doubt annoy you more than simply living with how the wiiflow source is released. nuf said!

good deal! i didn't see the part about the source following the releases by one revision. that's more then enough to meet my needs and continuing to use it. as for calling my comment sarcasm, i'm not sure where you got that from but there was none intended. i understand the stress devs go through with applications as i used to code a version of a loader here a year or two back. and honestly i've gotten by just fine until today without this loader, so i doubt using another is going to annoy me. there's good and bad about each loader and i like to keep my options open while trying the popular ones out. (these will be ones my friends call with questions on)

in any case, thanks for the response as i wasn't aware the source would only be delayed by one release, that's just fine with me!

I have thought about that, and I also think it's an option. Just release the sources with a release. I haven't discussed this with Mugotu yet, but we will consider this (read: discuss this soon)

Like the USB Loader CFG team.

Just do it and release beta dol's for testing, that's enough, i think.
