your right ....

yeah I just used r25 to make the cache files and then continue to use the latest release many thanks for your reply

I hope that trailers aren't a replacement for Fanarts, and that Fanarts are still being worked on...

Otherwise, thanks r-win, keep it going.

Fanarts? I never worked on Fanarts. I think nIxx made a test release once for fanarts. I had my thoughts about it, but never wrote a single line of code for it. Btw, I can see the thinking here: I thought about playing the video at the background too

QUOTE(propered @ Apr 6 2010, 12:02 PM) Should I just not bother trying to get 3d covers working from USB with r42 ?

512x340
png
all show fine on PC
downloaded from PC not via wiiflow as these show as corrupt in folder

the png files are not the problem, those will be fine, it's the cache file that is created after new covers have been added manually or downloaded. If you put the covers on the sd card, the cache files will be fine, after that you could copy the cache files to the HDD again and load from there. Works fine for me

. Let's hope r-win will be able to tackle this problem soon
Not true, both PNG and cache file will be corrupt. In memory, however, they look good. At least, the png does. It seems that writing these files corrupts them somehow...

r-win, can you disable the "Install" button if the setting is set to NTFS? (unless that's already done)
Well, installation should be disabled on NTFS, but that could've been a bug easily.
@Teentin, I'll try to fix this in the next revision.

Oh great. So if we want to use it, we'll have to put in the short trailer in there ourselves? And even then they need to be in THP format? That's INCREDIBLY troublesome, and something that is hardly called a "feature" if it comes with such an inconvenience;
Yep, agreed! But for the record, I refused to support any other format than THP, and the reason is clear (I think). I don't want to build another mplayer clone, because the mplayer team is far more skilled than I am at doing media stuff. Secondly, a THP video is just a stream of JPG files, for which we already have the code to display them. Downside, it makes them big, and you have to put them on your drive manually, OR, if a host can be found, they can be streamed (I think) directly.

i can host them if ya want

We got around 105 videos already made .. it takes up 2gb we are still making them.. if you want to help .. pm me ,, i will tell you more about it ..

Trailers? So I'm going to watch a video of a game that I intentionally downloaded? Probably is great for people who randomly download games, but if I'm getting a certain game, I know what it's going to be about, and thus negates the point of having such a useless feature.

Now... if it's "banner" loading instead, that's a different story.
I second that.  Banner loading instead of covers would also be nicer.

Pip'

If it by default loaded the banner that could ruin the coverflow, but then again it could be really cool too, or maybe where the trailers are, instead of the trailer button it would show the banner instead, either way nice to see additions, and the option if you dont like them dont have to use them and it doesnt hit performance. I still would really like to see a game count # and HDD free space somewhere/anywhere other than the on the front coverflow lol

and the game size individually

yes i second that.
Trailers are (for me) absolutely useless.....(and it's one more time a new button to add to my themes

but i would be very happy if R-win could have a look at a way to implement fanarts

come on dude ^^ i know you can do it !!!!!

I really hope that the next version merely focuses on bugs fixes, without implementing any new features.

Hope we can get a new stable and bug free version, since R25.

No matter which loader is concerned, stability is most important.

personally i think loading from fat32 with few bugs still better than limited stable wbfs loading

Well duh. Why would it be a replacement for covers? It's an addition to compliment the covers, like having the banner sounds play when you select your games. We're talking about having a small window that shows the banner when a game is clicked; not something that takes up the whole screen.

Noooo, no extra button. As I said before, I think this feature is useless, and won't be used that much. Therefor, I didn't add a button, but it requires a button click on the wiimote (up). Fanarts are doable, of course, but they will add a small delay to the loader.

TeenTin, I hope you can understand that searching for hard to find bugs makes me loose focus. Therefor, doing something completely different helps...

No need to search for bugs yourself, we have already found bugs for you to fix.

Maybe it could be toggled on and off into ini file so it could be (at least) available if user don't care about the added delay..
i think having the possibility to set any new option(s) to off could make testing easier while keeping the loader quite stable.

Hum....I remember you told me you could avoid this delay , by building a "list" of fanarts , as it's done for the cache files ^^
please could you at least try to do it , when bugs are fixed (i mean adding a game , corrupted covers etc etc..) ?
I'm pretty sure that with your skills , you'll come out with something perfect
wink.gif

Fanart will look good , when we do get to that point ... I hope we got someone who knows how to make good pics then ..
